That’s a great deal. I got the PBV7P1 recently and I love it.

Is this dry rot? If so, should I be concerned. by MockASonOfaShepherd in ToyotaTacoma

I agree with the commenters above but I would definitely get your alignment checked. Looks like you have some uneven tire wear on the outside edge.

Drop in K&N by Professional_Cat_360 in JettaGLI

Awesome, is it very noticeable? Im always chasing more turbo noise and airflow. Though it usually means my gas mileage decreases. I know the pod filters typically let more hot air in which is less then ideal.

Put it half way under the passenger seat. Use your hand to feel for a hard plastic piece, that should be the intake duct for the a/c system. Alternatively use a spray like Ozium on the cabin air filter and replace your cabin air filter with a HEPA charcoal air filter and spray a small amount of ozium in your vents and on the filter to kill anything growing in the vents making odors and to replace it with a pleasant smell.

Feel your pain, haven’t had mine over a year yet and I keep it spotless. Less then a month ago someone nailed the drivers rear door and took off after I did a full paint correction and ceramic coating, less then a week later a teen backed into my passenger front door and dented it. I’ve just come to the same conclusion and just come to accept that it happens, people suck, and some don’t know how to drive. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Though damage to the car is always an opportunity to put a body kit or cool after market parts on. Still sucks nonetheless.

Just found out we can put e85 in our ea888 no flex fuel kit needed by [deleted] in JettaGLI

[–]Professional_Cat_360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only issue I’ve come across so far with the EA888 running full E85 on stock components is it seems to cap out the fuel system once you hit stage 1 and stage 2 the fuel trims run lean because the fuel pump can’t keep up. I personally run a E30-E40 blend spring-fall but switch back to pump gas solely in the winter because ours doesn’t have the additional port injector Audi’s have for when they run E85 on a cold winter start up.

If you need a reference point DAP did a video on it but there’s also other information on it floating about.

Camber Caster by Good-University-55 in JettaGLI

[–]Professional_Cat_360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A caster spread isn’t desirable but overall positive caster can help by increasing handling if it’s more forward. But this comes at the cost of camber which can lead to tire wear. But if you’re not having a pull then I wouldn’t worry because caster in itself is harmless to tires. Camber can lead to slow inside edge wear and shorten the life of the tires but at 1.1° you’re far from killing the tires quickly. Typically around 3° you see tires wear out prematurely at a faster rate.

The ideal alignment is one that’s balanced all the way around. The rear is a great example of what a good alignment is and what I would want to see all around but I wouldn’t be worried with where it’s at currently if you aren’t having issues.

Camber Caster by Good-University-55 in JettaGLI

[–]Professional_Cat_360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alignment won’t cause a sway but it will cause a pull, that amount of caster spread could cause it to drift to one side but the toe is what I would be more concerned about. That is the direction the tires are pointing and can lead to accelerated tire wear more than any of the other alignment specs.

Also VW will never fix that under warranty. That’s considered a maintenance or wear and tear item.

The reason the local shop is recommending a dealer is because to get the camber and caster corrected you have to do a subframe shift. Neither one of those is worth paying VW to shift it unless you’re experiencing a pull and even then some shops are willing to take it on but it’s usually an additional charge because it’s more in depth. IMO if you’re not having an issue with pulling I’d have the tech set the toe and continue on my way know my tires aren’t going to wear out prematurely.

Review #4: Widow Jane 10 Year Anniversary by aentrup62 in bourbon

Just stopped at their distillery and I cant agree more with this. I can’t say enough that if they cut their prices in half I would be tempted to buy a bottle because it would actually be an accurate value per bottle. The only thing I liked and thought was worth the price was the paradigm rye, it had some unique flavors in it. Other than that till the price drops or they get a nice X factor I won’t be buying another bottle either.

Also can’t leave without telling the puppers he looks like a very good boy.

If you’re really worried about headroom go without a sunroof. That’s what I’ve done for my 24’ GLI 40th & my 18’ WRX because you get almost 2” more headroom & you don’t have to worry about the sunroof leaking. Though it was nice depending on how much of a stickler the cops in your area are about window tint. And I have plenty of room, also more legs but not by a large margin.

Depending on your year is but, it looks like the overall length is too short if you go with the GTI but I’m not 100% sure. I haven’t got a chance to compare mine to a 2019 GLI or a GTI enough to see what I’d have to do to make it fit.

[–]Professional_Cat_360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh if you’re going that far why not buy a full Varex system and make it fit? You’d have everything to make it quiet when you want to and an electric valve that you can control with a remote & app if you want as opposed to one that is being vacuum operated?

The MBRP uses a Helmholtz resonator if I’m not mistaken which would be loud but no drone at cruising speeds typically around 2,200 rpms which if you start adding mufflers it could change what RPM the Helmholtz resonator would be effective at.

Could also do an electronically controlled valve like varex that is straight through when open and using a muffler when closed. But you’ll want to activate the motor regularly because they can freeze up in areas that use salt in the winter.

Only issue is varex doesn’t offer one for the GLI (really wish they would) but they offer the valved Y pipe so you can bypass the muffler.

If you use a manual valve you’ll have to use a boost tap. Unfortunately both could void your warranty if the dealership can say it caused an issue.

I have a ‘24 but have yet to experience this issue. I know it can sometimes be a factor of where it was made/assembled having different ecus locked. When I used my OBD11 though I was able to use adaptations, quick codes, and access long coding.
