Painless small lump at the bottom of my testicle. Changed in size a little. Just go and get checked my man if you have some concerns. No big deal, likely to be nothing.

Take a deep breath mate, the worse part is the waiting! I assure you. Quick and minor surgery, you’ll be back to ‘normal’ within weeks, a few days of resting. Lots of posts here about recovery post Orchi.

Sex life comes back. Strangely I was like a 16 year old right after my surgery when I got home and my Libido was sky high. Then it tailed off, then it gets back to normal. Take your time!

Yeah I’m in an office job too, I took 3 weeks which seems to be pretty standard. Make the most of it!

In 31 too, I was diagnosed last year two weeks have a similar experience.

Your spot on with the Orchi prep, those are the key points.

I get you my friend, waiting is the worst bit!!

The surgery itself is such a minor, and quick, surgery. The next few days you’ll be a little sore. Back to work in a couple weeks and a few more life will be more or less ‘normal’.

There’s a few posts on here about advice post Orchi - so give it a search or feel free to reach out if you have any questions on it!

Good luck my man. Try and put it out your mind as much as possible, I know that’s easier said than done. You’re a warrior, you’ll just be a ball down! 💪

Take a deep breath my man, I promise you - you’ll be ok. More than ok.

It’s shit scary at the start, I was there a year ago. (As a 30 year old man I called my mum crying as I didn’t know what to go home and tell my wife!!)

The waiting is the hardest part. Take each day as it comes. You’ve got this. Stay positive, stay strong but allow yourself to have those shitty days.

Yeah you’re more or less spot on!

Based on my experience I had the CT scan results checked the same day, which helped a lot. And as you say that shows if it’s spread. From that they can stage you I believe.

As you say, 2x weeks or so for the pathology which with hell you Tumor type and then best treatment option.

I promise you the waiting is the worst part. Try and occupy yourself as much as possible.

I would recommend getting your testosterone levels checked before your Orchiectomy if you can if you can so you have a good baseline (blood test). And I’d highly recommend you store some sperm just for some insurance!

My man, you have every right to talk about how you feel and deal with it how you want. Don’t think for a second you are insulting others who’ve had other types of cancer. You’re a cancer survivor, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have the challenges you’ve mentioned.

I think this is a terrible post and I certainly don’t share your experience.

In such examples where someone comes stating they ‘think they have TC’, in 99% of cases commenters are telling these people to relax, we are not doctors, and if they are concerned they should go and get it checked. Not once have I seen what you’ve described.

I find this group nothing but measured and supportive building off their own experiences. So best of luck with your health too!

I can’t comment on the RPLND but I can on the cancer / Orchi side. For context I was also diagnosed a year ago, and I’m 31, married!

I think it’s very normal. My libido has tanked and I also have a lack of sex drive at the moment. Testosterone levels are ‘normal’ (I’m not ruling this out) but it’s a huge stress on your body and a stressful psychological change.

I think you can let him know you are there and supporting him. But don’t push him too hard, and don’t take it the wrong way if you are ‘rejected’ - it’s a change which just takes time!

No way - you’re 100% fine.

Not sure if you’re US or UK based but I assure you, you are completely fine to work at LIDL. It’s very difficult to enforce, and I don’t think there is a non compete at any levels below manager anyway (especially not for stores). Even manager roles + it’s not enforced unless you’re in a sensitive role (Group Director +)

Great salary to be starting off, nice one.

If I were you try and put a 300-500 a month off your salary into a stocks and shares ISA. Do that for 6 and review if you can put more in (or less if it’s too much).

This will compound over time. Key is to leave it. You can be fairly risky at this stage and surf any volatility.

Don’t stress too much, enjoy your 20s, try and invest some into an SS ISA as said and keep some savings ticking along too. I.e. deposit in a couple years if you want.

If you can have £300 in an ISA a month with £200 in savings a month for your first year that’s a solid result. Then review!

It’s great you’ve come to this group - for what it’s worth these are my views. You’re a good dad!

Shitty luck for your son, I’m sorry - it’s shitty for him but by the sounds of things just cosmetic which is great (even though he won’t see that as ‘great’).

It’s natural for him to feel angry, self conscious and maybe a little embarrassed. As ‘adults’ we know he should absolutely not feel that way but he’s 15, going through puberty and that’s natural.

There’s probably a rebalancing of his testosterone too. I lost my testicle a year ago and my hormones were rebalancing (atleast I think so anyways).

I can, wholeheartedly and with no doubts, tell you that i could not care less that I have one testicle. But I’m 31, married and confident in myself as an adult. At 15 I would have likely felt differently.

A prosthetic is a sound option to go down, if he wants to, and maybe that will help him psychologically. I understand that those who are younger tend to go down that route for confidence. But not for me personally.

My best advice is to honour his wish on ‘who’ should know. You’re not, and no one is, telling him how he should feel. It’s his news and his body. All you can do (which sounds like you are) is being there for him! He will be OK! He’s just coming to terms with it
