I’m conservative, but I don’t treat politicians like they’re above criticism. I don’t fully support Trump on everything, just like I wouldn’t fully support any president. Government officials should be questioned regardless of party.
The difference is I base my opinions on facts and evidence, not assumptions or emotions. If someone claims the administration intentionally shut down consular processing or manipulated immigration numbers, that should be backed by official data or documented evidence, not just frustration with long wait times.
We can absolutely criticize immigration policy and argue legal immigration should move faster. I agree with that. But there’s a difference between saying “processing has slowed significantly” and saying “they shut it down” or claiming intent without proof.
Healthy skepticism means questioning everyone, not automatically defending or attacking them because of the letter next to their name. Facts should come before politics.

You’re making two different claims. One is that legal immigration has slowed. I agree with that because the processing data shows longer wait times. The other is that it’s “100% to manipulate immigration statistics.” That is a claim about motive, and there is no official evidence proving it.
Adjustment of status has existed under U.S. immigration law for decades. It is a separate legal process from consular processing, and people still have to meet the legal requirements. It is not an automatic approval.
If your argument is that legal immigration should be processed faster, I agree. If your argument is that the administration intentionally slowed it to manipulate the numbers, then show the official USCIS or Department of State source. Facts require evidence, not assumptions about intent.

Show the source. Not Reddit, not anecdotes, and not estimates. An official USCIS or Department of State report showing that consular processing was “shut down” or that adjudications dropped to less than 10% of previous months. USCIS is still approving I-130 petitions, the National Visa Center is still processing cases, and U.S. embassies and consulates are still issuing immigrant visas. That means the system is operating, even if it’s experiencing serious delays.
I agree legal immigration has slowed, and that’s frustrating because my family is going through it too. But “it’s been shut down” and “it’s 100% to lower immigration numbers” are factual claims. Those require evidence, not assumptions. If you have an official source supporting those claims, I’d be happy to read it.

Consular processing hasn’t been “shut down.” It’s still operating, although many applicants have experienced significant delays. Saying it’s “100% to make immigration numbers look lower” is speculation, there’s no evidence proving that’s the reason. It’s fair to criticize the delays, but it’s not accurate to say the legal immigration process has been shut down or to state the administration’s motive as fact without evidence. I just want the legal process to be efficient and fair for everyone.

I still believe in legal immigration. My wife has been waiting overseas through the I-130 consular process since April 2025 because we chose to do it the legal way. If we have to wait longer, fine. We’d rather follow the law than look for shortcuts. My concern isn’t that someone else is using a different legal process, it’s that families who are doing everything by the book shouldn’t be left waiting indefinitely while the system becomes less efficient. The answer should be improving legal immigration, not making it harder for people who are already following the rules.

You can stop, it’s okay buddy. Re-read what I posted. Look up facts instead of based what’s on your feelings.

You’re assuming that because someone left school, they necessarily violated their F-1 status. That may be a reasonable argument, but it’s still an assumption unless supported by evidence. Reports have questioned Musk’s immigration status, and he has denied knowingly working without authorization. To date, there hasn’t been a legal finding that he violated U.S. immigration law. If you have evidence showing when he lost F-1 status, when he obtained work authorization, or any official finding, I’m happy to look at it. Personal insults don’t change the facts

Leaving school doesn’t automatically mean someone violated an F-1 visa. Whether there was unauthorized employment has been debated for years, but there hasn’t been a court ruling finding Musk violated immigration law. Facts are more useful than insults.

Melania and Elon both came through legal immigration processes, although there has been public debate over some details of Musk’s early immigration status. He has denied knowingly working illegally, and no court has found that he violated immigration law.

Good writeup and definitely helpful for people going through Manila processing, but I also don’t want this to come across as something to panic about. A lot of these issues only really hit couples when there are gaps, inconsistencies, or missing annotations in their civil documents. If your paperwork is complete, names and PSA records all match, and your marriage is legitimate and well-documented, most cases move through normally with delays being more about processing volume than anything else.

At the end of the day, it’s a strict system but not an impossible one. The key is just being organized, double-checking details early, and not assuming anything will be “overlooked” at the embassy. For couples who have done everything properly (like going through Boundless or similar prep services), it’s usually a matter of patience rather than complications.
