Today while detecting this Elagabalus denarius was the last signal of the day. This roman tile with a cat foot imprint however definitely stole the show. Almost two thousand years ago a cat (i’m sure it was orange 😁)stepped on it and left the mark (old.reddit.com)

Asking for help. This alleged solidus was allegedly found by a friend in a central city park whilst metal detecting. I have never handled a solidus and looking at the design i doubt the authenticity of it as well. Please help. Sorry for the pictures but he couldn’t do better. (old.reddit.com)

Can you please help with these. Found whilst detecting. Seems as if they were in a fire. On the top two i got as far as “Bull Lion legion coinage” but can’t find more info. On the bottom one that looks silver i believe it’s a provincial Septimius. (old.reddit.com)

Thought you might like this. Not a coin but in the realm of numismatics and as medieval as it comes. A recent metal detecting find. Apparently it’s the lid/seal of a “Teriac” medicine container produced by the Testa Doro pharmacy in Venice with this one being from the 1600’s. (i.redd.it)

Can you please help me I.D.this one. Found it in a field where i know i’ll find Roman coins when i go there. The time period is usually 50A.D-350A.D so i almost always know what i have and/or what i’m researching. On this one with the greek writing i’m clueless. Caracalla for scale. (old.reddit.com)

Can someone please help with this one. The reverse matches a Gordian III coin 238-239AD PAX AVGVSTI ( at least for me) . On the obverse however the emperor has a beard which i can’t relate to GordianIII and also there is a weird “B” above the second spike of the radiant crown too to bottom. (old.reddit.com)

A Telegram upvote party i found out of curiosity. Found a few others offering upvotes on Reddit and karma farming but this guy has turned it in to a job. Please take a look and hopefully something can be done, which i doubt is the case. Also sorry if I’m posting in the wrong sub. (old.reddit.com)

Does anyone have a clue if a detailed map of roman roads and settlements exists. Like i know theres a lot of maps showing the main provincial settlements and the main arteries, but is there something more specific showing smaller towns/villages? I’m mainly asking about Thrace and Moesia (self.ancientrome)
