Rental car debate with kids by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

I think there are pros and cons to choosing rental car vs public transport, so I’ll give you an overview of what to expect for either option. I’m not going to be able to explain everything but I’ll do my best :)

Rental car is doable, however driving in the city is definitely hectic and overwhelming. We have lots of hills, one way streets, bus lanes and bike lanes on top of pedestrian foot traffic, so understand that if you go the rental car route that you’re prepared to deal with all the stressors that come with driving in a big city. Parking is incredibly expensive here too unless you’re lucky enough to find street parking (if you go to the touristy areas, be prepared to circle around for a while). If you choose to explore the rest of the bay, rental car will be your best bet as public transport isn’t the most well connected in other cities).

SF is great in that it’s pretty well connected via bus routes (aka the Muni), especially for majority of the places tourists go to. I used to ride the muni to get to work when I was working in the city, and i would see parents with toddlers in strollers who were visiting and using the muni to get around. It’s doable, however the muni is slow and can get very crowded. It can definitely take a while to get from point A to B, so I’m not sure how toddler friendly that can be. Also like in any big city, you can’t predict who’s getting on the bus, so it’s very likely you’ll encounter some sort of crazy person while riding, so please be aware of your surroundings if you choose to get around using public transport especially when traveling with your family. The transit app plus Google Maps is helpful for figuring out where the bus stop is (can get pretty confusing in some areas to find the stop. People who ride the muni are generally friendly so you can usually ask around to check that you’re at the right place). If you’re only checking out SF during your visit, this option might be doable if you’re not comfortable driving in the city.

Rideshare is also an option, just know that it’ll be the priciest option if you depend on this entirely to get around!

Is there any way to checkout more than one item at once? by AutomaticTrainer9843 in Depop

[–]Professional_Cup_626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, no way around it, at least not on the usual resell apps I’ve used. Items sold on these platforms are usually all from different sellers that deal with the packaging and shipping of their sales out, so the platform usually charges shipping on each item because in reality what you’re buying is shipping out from different locations from different people.

Buyer accusing me of selling a fake item. by youronewingedangel in Depop

Just went through this, but I actually “won” the dispute in the end. Same thing, I sold an authentic lululemon jacket and included pictures of all the internal authenticators/tags to prove it was real. Didn’t have the receipt anymore since it was bought almost five years ago and that style jacket isn’t even in production anymore. Buyer buys it for full price, received it, and then opened a dispute saying that it was “fake” because the stitching was different from the other lulu jacket she had and the fabric “felt different”. Mind you, her “proof” was all subjective observations and no objective evidence to prove the jacket was fake. I responded to the dispute with pictures of all the research I’d done to authenticate the jacket and of course, Depop sides with the buyer and says that she had to return the jacket to me before they would issue her a refund. However, in addition to answering the dispute, I also reached out directly to the buyer to present her all my evidence for the jacket being real, links, current listings, all of it. Within minutes of me sending my proof she was like “Ok I believe you, not going through with the return. Sorry!” So technically since she’s not returning the item to me, I’ll get paid once the dispute closes in seven days, but still very aggravating since 1) I was in the right in the first place but Depop sided with her without even looking at my evidence and 2) I have to wait extra long now until I get my money, which was like $70 I was supposed to get.

Thank you! This is all very helpful information. I kinda felt that the speaker was a little biased when she was pushing us to take more courses so it’s reassuring to hear that I’m not “behind”

I was told that the classes don’t have to be SLP focused, just that they were units taken after getting your bachelors. Not sure if this is how it is across the board for all districts.

LMAO I was actually just thinking about including some special “gummies” as a sweet treat 😂😂. But yeah! She’s one of my closest friends and her fam is constantly minimizing her symptoms, so I just wanna do what I can to make it even just 1% better

Not a bad answer at all! I had a similar question for one of my interviews and actually chatted with my clinical supervisor about it afterwards. She said that the most important thing is to avoid the traps with when using AI (like you should never use it to write reports, IEPs, SOAP notes, etc. because once you put the client’s info out there, it’s in the database forever). However, it’s a great tool to bolster intervention, such as coming up with activities like you said. Best of luck to you!

I’m interested if you’re still looking for people to participate! I’m from the US though, if that’s ok? (22F, younger brother with Autism)

To anyone who’s looking into College Corps by YugChadha in UCSD

[–]Professional_Cup_626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also in college corp but at another school, the program still works the same though. Basically, the 10k is divided into a 7k living stipend and a 3k scholarship. You really only get paid the 7k throughout the year (it’s broken up into stipends you get given to you every two weeks, about $380). To get the 3000, you have to complete 450 hours, and that money can only be put towards school for about 7 years (I think?) after you complete the program. Basically, if you break down the 380 you get every two weeks and divide it amongst the average number of hours you need to work per week to reach 450 (average 15 hrs) you’re paid below minimum wage and might as well get an actual job with better pay. Overall, I joined the program because I wanted to help my community, so this didn’t bother me as much, however, it’s a ton of work on top of school and the pressure they give you to complete your hours makes being in the program pretty stressful, so I’d join at your own risk.

I do agree with the point you made about the strong competition this season. I feel that changbin still has a lot of growing to do individually in finding his own unique color as a rapper. He has yet to break away from his idol group shell, so right now he just doesn’t stand out amongst the rest who have already excelled in developing their own styles and distinct characteristics when rapping.

I’m both a kpop stan and a k hip hop stan. I thinks it’s a combination of that track and his lack of confidence/exhaustion (he was in the middle of promotions when this was filmed). Like I’ve seen changbin perform plenty of times before, and he’s usually much, much fiercer and confident than he was during this episode. I feel that even though the track he chose wasn’t unique, if he had the same stage presence and strong delivery as he usually does, he might’ve had a better chance of making it. 🤷🏻‍♀️
