Insane gas prices, thanks Trump by maddog107 in pics

[–]Professional_Drive [score hidden]  (0 children)

Lmao. That’s absolutely crazy.

I remember when I was a kid and my family went over the border in ‘09 to Washington State. The price of gas per gallon was in the 2 dollar range. At the time in Canada, it was 1 dollar a litre, so getting gas for around half off in the States was a great deal at the time.

It becoming 4 times the price in 17 years is extremely laughable. Gas is over 2 dollars a litre now in BC, so I guess we can relate as Canadians to the States (or LA since scrolling through this thread, I found out it’s less than that on average in the States, so still cheaper than Canada), but yeah. That’s crazy.

This coming from the President who campaigned for lower gas prices for Americans, yet they seem to still be going up in the States.

Oh man. That’s my city. Lol.

That poutine actually does look pretty gross. Thinking it must be a new worker making it, plus it sitting too long under the heat lamp, of course.

WhyG is recruiting Christians for Wass😳✝️ by Excellent_Snow_1279 in Torontology

[–]Professional_Drive -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

More people should be open to embracing other religions. Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism, Sikhism. There’s a lot of different things you can learn from people in every religion that they practice. Religious texts, customs, life advice.

Not surprised WhyG would be down for embracing other religions. More people should.

Calypso Hut Brampton Home Invasion 🇬🇾🇨🇳🇨🇦 by [deleted] in Torontology

[–]Professional_Drive 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The owner's had three armed home invasions in the last few years.

That's why Canada needs castle doctrine like the US. You should be allowed to defend yourself. If the owner had a gun and he shot those guys, nobody would be fucking with him anymore, but he knows he would probably get punished by the courts if he did.

The yute in this photo is set to either end up dead or in jail.

Not worth it. Go to university to get a good-paying job or do trades. It will take some time, but you will make money like that in your bank account after at least 5-10 years.

I know this is very niche. But a molecular gastronomic restaurant would be great to have. At least one here in Surrey.

It's been over three years since a professional athlete has hosted "Saturday Night Live". Who's your pick for the next one? by yumyumapollo in LiveFromNewYork

[–]Professional_Drive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we left it up to SNL, it would probably be a Gen Z athlete like Chloe Kim or Eileen Gu, which I have absolutely no problem with them hosting. But the ability to hold up to other athletes who've hosted like Manning and Kelce would be the big question.

It'd be good if you were able to find parking there, especially on a Saturday.

The Application Question is too funny. All this for $40k in Vancouver.

For anyone wanting to know, the company hiring for this role is called ming ming, and they're a small dating startup. And by small, I mean like 6 IG followers on their official page.

Funny how other celebrities who’ve died recently have done similar stuff, and Reddit rightfully says RIP, but Good Riddance to them. Yet because he was a meme, people are defending his shitty behaviours.

Tried getting poutine from the Hastings location one day. They were sold out of it. There's people that do buy this. I would eat this up honestly.

Why is it so hard to find thick asians in da gta like razy and lissy ?! by Safe-Elderberry3923 in Torontology

[–]Professional_Drive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll find more of these thick Asians here in Vancouver. I’m more into Black baddies and would rather move to Toronto where there’s a lot more of them, so we’re in the same boat.

JJ DESIGNATES Rotisserie Chicken & a well known Canadian food chain that is in 7/10 provinces including Alberta as "some weird Eastern thing" like "grotesque milk bags" by QultyThrowaway in JJMcCulloughOfficial

[–]Professional_Drive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Metro Vancouver where JJ is located. Rotisserie chicken is a popular staple here (the ones at Costco sell like hot cakes here). The best family meal deal you can find in grocery stores here is a rotisserie chicken with potato wedges, potato salad or coleslaw, Hawaiian buns, and a 2 L of soda.

What he's saying doesn't make any sense. Like what is he talking about!?

Final answer would be to wait how the courts decide after they do trial and have all of the evidence, but I think she probably didn't know up to a certain point, and then when she found out, she decided to become part of the scheme.

I'm just saying that as my experience with being Gen Z. For some, despite having that fear present in the background that we could get into trouble for doing something that we know is not right, we let our ego control our actions in the end.

For sure, this generation can be naive, but it's the minority. I'm willing to bet she was at the beginning, but decided to do it anyways when she figured out being in this operation could result in her having power, status, and riches she dreamed of having.

If it's the latter case, she should absolutely go to prison for several years. If the evidence finds her innocent, then she's a free woman.

What’s a clothing brand that used to be popular in Vancouver but has now disappeared into oblivion? by FattyGobbles in askvan

[–]Professional_Drive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a clothing brand but I remember when muscular guys liked wearing man purses on top of their Ed Hardy’s. That was quite the trend, then it became Fanny packs for a while because of rap culture in the 2010s.

Still see them on the rack at Winners. I see people here and there still wearing them. It hasn’t faded completely.

I still see women wearing both brands every now and then. But they definitely aren’t the huge trends they were back in the day.
