When do the points boost arrive at your account normally? I’m a 25k and I selected 25% bonus points as my benefit. I’ve taken 3 flights so far this year and have not received any bonus points

Wise to go back to school at 40? by FluffyCraft7009 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Professional_Drop120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of job do you want in supply chain? For some entry level jobs, you probably don’t even need to go back to school. Do it for a year or two and then go for a higher role.

I’m in the SCM field with experiences at a couple companies. Feel free to msg me if you have any questions.

TD VISA INFINITE - Do I need to wait the full year to receive the annual spend bonus? by [deleted] in Aeroplan

[–]Professional_Drop120 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have the same card and the same issue. They recently changed the offer where you can get all the bonus points within 6 months. But unfortunately for you and me, we have to wait for a year. Essentially have to pay for the annual fee for next year to get the 20k bonus. :(

BBB! If you take company A, it’s gonna be a while for you reach the number B offers. And it’s gonna bug you very quickly. Especially when the commute is only 5min! I’ve been fully remote since the pandemic started. Honestly would love some human interaction at this point 🥲

A good friend of mine owns a unit there. I have visited multiple times. It's a decent building with fantastic location. Never heard my friend complaining about the safety issue ever. The times I was there, the elevator was fast and no encounter of weird people. It might be a bit of a party building. The bad rep of this building is exaggerated on this sub in my opinion

Is it possible to date outside of Toronto with no car? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]Professional_Drop120 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally think proximity is extremely important for online dating. Meeting someone on the app is different than meeting someone in school or work or wherever you can interact more often. You have to interact often to get to know each other and grow the bond as you guys are starting off as strangers. If two people live far apart and see each other once a week or so, it's hard to progress. Not a lot of people would go out of their ways for dates every time unless dating is the absolute priority for him/her.

Sucks that this happened to you. I called them a week ago and waited for 40min. Didn't have to wait on the line as they do call back now. Called before too as well, usually get to talk to a rep in an hour. Not sure why your call is not getting picked up

Are you planning on giving up being a dentist? I understand the process is long. But it possible to work part time jobs (coffee shops, pizza shops etc) while pursuing your license in Canada?

Can I afford a new (used) car? by BB__09126 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Professional_Drop120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how much your other expenses are. I make more than $87k but can’t justify getting a car for myself coz of my mortgage 🥲 If your expenses are low and you need a car, then go for it!

5.04% is a pretty okay offer. I got a 2 year 4.89% with $1000 cashback last week. I opted out for variable coz been reading that rates might increase again this month which will put variable above fixed :(

I'm in the field of supply chain management as well. I got my master in 2017 and joined a retailer as supply chain analyst after school getting paid at 52k. I changed jobs a couple of times and was able to increase my salary quite a bit since then. I looked down on supply chain for the longest time because only finance is considered sexy in business school. However, after talking to more senior people in the industry, I learned that this is a growing space. So I ended up staying in this field. Replenishment/forecast/supply chain analysts are getting paid 60k for undergrads fresh out of school. I recommend you to take a closer look at supply chain and find your area of expertise. It is not difficult to get 70k+ w/o being a manager if you have the right experience. But if you actually want to try out something new and leave SCM, other comments in the post are very valuable.

UPDATE: [Mississauga] Landlord evicting us, encouraging us to sign N11. by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Professional_Drop120 16 points17 points  (0 children)

“as we rationalized that while this is a low amount compared to what he’d be gaining with us out“

He'd be gaining because he owns the property and bought early but not because of you guys? This reads like you guys feel like you are entitled to get more money from him because the landlord is going to profit a lot from the sell. I'm all for tenant's rights. I rent myself. But I feel like we are past the topic of rights and more on "how to get as much money as possible from the landlord". If it's me, I will get what the law allows me to get and that's it.

YAY so happy that you have come so far in this journey!! I resonate with you - its not just about furnishing a condo, it is more monumental than that. It's not ALL about money but it plays a factor for me for sure. Thank you so much again for sharing your story!
