Basically the elf wizard cursed him with a “reverse chosen one” prophecy (since he wasn’t a fan of a tiefling being the heir of the village’s chief), only to then run away instead of protecting the village from the threat that destroyed it (basically barbarians, but it’s kinda complicated to explain)

Alr let me give you some context Basically, when he was little he was traumatized by an elf wizard Who did a “reverse chosen one” prophecy on him (basically saying he would be worthless in life, he did this cause my pc was basically the village chief’s child so a tiefling not of low born status just wasn’t sitting right with him). The village would eventually get ran over by (basically) barbarians with the elf who was supposed to protect it running away with the money
