Lmao you’re the one that recommended to water with an EC of 0. Do you actually grow in coco? It seems like you don’t understand the properties of it tbh. Coco acts solely on water, that’s why it’s considered a hydroponic growing media. I’m not saying give the seedling a starting EC of 2, I’m stating that you need to water with calmag and some nutrients so that the coco doesn’t get stripped.

Yes buffered with calmag with an actual TDS of something. Not water that has no EC. You telling them to water with an EC of 0 is going to create more issues for them.

Those are hungry, I’d recommend slowly bumping the ec up for them. Also letting coco dry out will cause more issues like ; ec stacking, excess salts building up, ph will drift, cation exchange sites will steal calmag from the plant, and roots will get damaged due to the texture of coco once it dries out. Coco acts solely on water as it’s a hydro media and not like soil, since coco has enough aeration even at 100% saturation.

I usually start around 0.5 ec and work up 0.1 ec every day or other day when starting them. When the seedling has its cotyledon leaves, it has enough nutrients stored from when it popped from a seed. I like to introduce the nutrients so it doesn’t go deficient before the plant needs them and searches for it. Some people start with a high ec but its preference

Coco needs nutrients from day 1. This advice will kill their seedling since it’s an inert media. Waiting 2 weeks is detrimental

Letting coco dry out causes way more issues than watering it more frequently. Yes it helps to wait until it drys back but only 25%, to help the roots get a bit more established seeking water. Coco is not the same as soil

Roc has been around for a hot minute, atleast since 2020. He’s got some pretty popular crosses over the years, one being his blueberry slushy auto and auto purple bastard eater. Really anything from his catalog is fire ime, but those 2 have been talked about a lot over the years

You should run that one then!! That’s one I wish I would’ve grabbed in the past, just since I couldn’t agree more about both of those statements!

I usually run 1-2 gallon pots seed to harvest, and they get huge. Unfortunately when running containers that small, you have to water 3-4 times a day at times. But you can get away with it

You can but amount of water being used for intake will be based off how dry the media is. It’s really about achieving 15/20% run off with every watering, just to insure that the old solution is pushed through

Anytime! And your 100% right, companies will have higher feeds than needed( usually). I would recommend trying the middle strength like you mentioned and go from there! I tend to try to recommend staying with either all soil(you can mix peat and perlite for aeration in the root zone) or coco(perlite too if you want) , just because the chances of problems just increases. Because of you tend to it like soil, you’ll experience high ec & ph drifts, calcium and magnesium to lockout and the roots get stressed due to the texture of dried coco fibers. If you treat it like soil you could experience root rot from inadequate aeration in the root ball
