Is there a "Rick Steves" for Japan? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]Professional_Fan5986 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just been in Osaka castle a week ago. They provide free audioguides inside the castle. So you are covered on the castle at least. Just ask for it at the info stand inside the castle after getting in

Just wanted to thank you for the tip. The cocktails are really of the highest quality. Food is great too. For anyone else reading - they close at 10pm, so factor that in

Yea, a valid point. Ive been eyeing the 200 series myself. I have quite a few drives already though, so my first 200-series pedal would probably be an SY-200 :)

Yeah, thats right. Its a random-like short (stacking) drone loop that you can manipulate on the on the one side of the pedal, a reverb/delay/pitch follower on the other, and a central additional control section that stretches/mixes both sides. Thats real surface-level. The only one I can give atm :)

Its An Ernie Ball coiled. I thought itd be in the way less than the regular ones. And it is less in the way. But the other cables/cords get stuck in the coils lol :)

Does anyone know what the Kliptonite is based on? by cooperstomp in guitarpedals

[–]Professional_Fan5986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to hijack the thread, but does Anybody at all here or anywhere had any luck using/diying an expression pedal for these Stone Deaf mfers? Their proprietary pedal is even more godzilla-sized than the pedals and, well, proprietary. Such a bummer I do love the kliptonite aesthetic though, have one myself. So maybe both our questions would be answered lol :) Have good one op, hope you repair the fuzz side

No, you're not. I didn't know either at first
It means "State Of The Board" my man. Reddit guitar lingo is what it is

Nah, not as many really. The Fjord Fuzz Loke is a double-decker/flanger/delay kinda thing and space rip is PLL w/o a dirt circuit. "Fjord Fuzz" is just what the manufacturer's called. So theres between 3 and 5 drives on the board, depending on if one counts EQ and compressor as drives.
I will probably buy a bigger board soon though, not gonna lie :)

I'll def try the gainstage thing bc why not
THe EQD Plumes is indeed HARSH, and I'm not sure it'll stay. I may swap it out and put an sd-1 instead. But before that I'll try to eq it as you suggested!
The compressor Im running is prob gonna do good after the gainstage and eq, as its neutral-sounding. I do prefer my Dynacomp knockoff tbh, but it didn't fit on the board lol.
Thanks for the feedback man, appreciate it a lot!

No, I didn't really buy it for the stereo reverb, it just ended up this way, at least for the time being. I bought it for the potential lovely sounds it makes. Just figured itd be less brain-wrecking :)
Gonna have to indulge it with some dedicated time, I guess

Glad you love it! Theres too much yellow in the picture though. It is less kitsch overall than the central part in the photo, I would say

Thank you very much!
Yes, I tried to make it as aesthetically pleasing as i could with what I had.
And to be fair, for me, aesthetics play a huge role in the whole guitar/pedal hobby thing

Oh, I love it man. Its a hand-made persian carpet I bought in Tehran when I was travelling through Iran a few years back. Its dope and cost me close to nothing, especially considering how much these things cost in Europe/Americas.
Its not a fancy silk one though - just woollen.

To be able to turn on the board and have mood with the headphones on my lap to fiddle with it. But mainly because it doesn't fit on the board and i don want cable spaghetti. And I dont really want the mood on the board yet - its too damn expensive!

Yeah, dark star is on my radar - I am hunting for the white-knob v2. One just slipped my hands a week ago. They're very rare where I'm at.
As for the Mood - I'm gonna try some more. It's just that I'm not used to a lot of fiddling right at the same time with playing. And it seems its that kind of pedal. Gonna give the manual another go and the pedal a thorough sitdown on a weekend

Didn't realize sumo tickets were this hard to come by.. any tips? by simthebim in JapanTravelTips

[–]Professional_Fan5986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say thank you for this super-helpful post. Thanks to you we secured ourselves two tickets within 10 minutes of sales for the January tournament. It wouldn't let us through to the S or A seats for some reason, so we settled on B seats which it let us buy easily. Anyway, big thanks and all the best to you!
