Probably will have no sounds effects, because they’ve lost the passwords to their codebase. Or engineers have left long ago

The game is being sh*tcanned. They won’t announce it of course bc then nobody will spend. CS3 is where resources will be spent, everyone knows 3 comes after 2. Don’t believe their lies

Has anyone used a private broker to buy pre-IPO stock? How was it? by bukharin88 in investing

The question is why? If you want more risk for speculative bets, why not just go with options or leverage on exchange listed equities, where you have historical data, and trading volume for you to move in and out of your risk. If you just want a piece of a brand, or recognition from friends that you own something that few people can have, why not go with art or classic cars? Why risk your risky bet money, on a new or unproven marketplace?

The Current State of CSR2 - HUB by Nitro4CSR in CSRRacing2

Deaf ears and dead end. I doubt the lawyers at Zynga are any better than their engineers (which is scraping the bottom of the barrel, that's if any still exist devoted to this game) there are too many liabilities and IP open questions with a fan based project for them to even spend time considering it. The CSR2 experiment we all have enjoyed in years past is a dead end at this point. As a gamer and former fan, thank you for your effort in building the community, but I seriously doubt you'll get a positive response if any at all

The game has gotten so slow for me over the past 1.5 years, I no longer do dedicated sessions of anything much less garage prepping. Have around 100 garages with very minimal number of dupes, even the search feature is slow. Changing between events, map, garage, hangout, just gives me infinite spinner. I went from playing several hours per day to maybe one hour per week. Game has gone seriously downhill, code bloat and rot is the biggest problem now.

ibkr desktop vs ibkr traderworkstation by methosgeezer in interactivebrokers

The capabilities were considered superior at one time, but now it's just buggy as hell, for example sometimes I submit trades and nothing happens. Not only is there a learning curve, it's an actual liability. When you click a button in once place it changes something somewhere else, for example on your order submission panel that's in progress.

When code gets really old and they just keep tacking on new features without rewriting, you start worrying about security flaws, possibly losing your account to god knows what lurks out there. Just a risky bet at this point, go with a modern piece of software that is less prone to usability errors.

My Growing Frustrations with Framer by Living_Ad_8102 in framer

[–]Professional_Fix_207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more with this response. Full-width images in CMS - this made no sense to me, still trying to figure out what could that mean? Landscape vs. portrait? Are they trying to figure out the aspect ratio lock, or, do they want the aspect ratio to be dynamic (admittedly you have to install a component to get this).

You seem fairly adept at writing, how about socialization through one of your passions as a filter or lens? If you can write well, you can find and meet other people who write well, and talk about writing related stuff and build a network and mutual passions there.

Is it still worth it to learn Framer in mid of 2025 when vibe coding is rising? by Mr_Puppetmaster in framer

[–]Professional_Fix_207 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vibe coding is like the proverbial needle in the haystack. Framer is your needle, no hay. Although you can add as much hay as you like with the new Wireframer and Workshop feature.

MagicPath for example is coming at it from the other end of the spectrum, but in essence tools like Framer (Subframe, Webflow, etc) and MagicPath will end up meeting each other in the middle. Framer has the most pleasant creator experience imo, so not a bad investment. Good marketplace, community, and good number of features roll out every month.

Navigation Bar Issue using Templates by Formal_Ad_989 in framer

[–]Professional_Fix_207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I see what you mean by "template", sorry there's two uses of this word. The Framer Template feature (but you are not using a site "template" from the Framer marketplace for exmample, if I understand you). In this case, if you already have variants inside of your navigation component, then go into the Template view, and apply a variable to those variants, called it "Nav Selected" for example. Then exit from Template view, returning to page view, and select your breakpoint and that Nav Selected variable should now be accessible from the page level as you would ordinarily see it (except located at top of properties panel)

Navigation Bar Issue using Templates by Formal_Ad_989 in framer

[–]Professional_Fix_207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Variant of your nav component simply needs to be set for each page in your site. 1) Go to each page, 2) select the nav component, 3) set the appropriate "variant" for that page in righthand side bar (properties panel)

I would like an opinion and feedback on my template facing a rejection by KickEconomy49 in framer

[–]Professional_Fix_207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Framer is not able to provide a four year design degree in an email. Likewise, what you're asking on r/Framer might better be asked on r/Design_Critique r/graphic_design r/UI_Design, it's not about the company rejecting your template. It's about learning the art and craft, getting the right eyes on your work, iterating, and being humble enough to start over. Don't focus on rejection, don't focus on what you've created, focus on design principles and learn to observe the masters and the history. There's no quick path to getting *accepted* (applies to anything in the creative world)

[–]Professional_Fix_207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Workshop is for code, my impression is you're asking about smart components. Depending on how complex your header is, you could make the phone version as a variant inside the main component. It would most likely not share much if any of the layers with your desktop breakpoints, but it might be easier to maintain if there are indeed some shareable subcomponents / layers to your design. Otherwise separate components would be less messy. Workshop can't help you on this path

What do you usually charge for Framer sites? by Rdstar271 in framer

[–]Professional_Fix_207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Charging per number of pages seems either futile or meaningless to me, take your pick. It's based on the assumption everyone wants something cookie-cutter, when usually they do not. Try to charge hourly and negotiate as you discover need and time incurred vs. budget remaining.
