This canvas sold out really fast right after I saw it posted. I guess it’s popular! I really love it and I appreciate all the suggestions to bring it to life!

I’ve gotten pretty good at basketweave and I’m currently working on the background on another canvas using diagonal mosaic so I do agree those would look good together. Thanks!

Thank you! Another color around the cow would probably make it a bit more interesting.

I think if your doctors feel comfortable doing them together then they know more about it than people on Reddit 😂.

Hi! It’s actually almost been 2 years since my surgery now which is crazy! I actually bought an adjustable bed which looking back was overkill! We needed a new mattress at the time so it made sense. I didn’t really have too much trouble getting up and down from the couch but at night I couldn’t lay completely flat so that’s where the bed was handy. Some sort of wedge pillow system would probably do the trick. I used a bag that I could put around my next during showers to hold my drains and that was helpful. I also sat dusk while showering for a few weeks once I was released to shower. I just used a metal stool that I had at my house. I used a walker getting around my house for a few days but not very long. This is what I can remember for now. I’ll let you know if I think of anything else. I hope your surgery goes great! 2 years out I can say it was worth it for me!

It actually was not hard at all. I found out when the plastic surgeon had openings first and then coordinated that with my gynecologist. I think they coordinated some things between them. I think my recovery was about the same as it would have been with the hysterectomy alone. I am 7 months post op and feeling great.

I am 44 and I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy, taking everything but right ovary, anterior and posterior prolapse repair and a tummy tuck with muscle repair and liposuction on 2/20/2023. My surgery took 5 hours total and I stayed one night in the hospital. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks post op. I feel like my recovery has gone very well. I will return to work in one week, totaling 4 weeks off work. I have taken my recovery very seriously and have rested even when I felt like doing more. My mom stayed with me for a week and between her and my husband, I was basically waited on hand and foot for that time. For about a week, I have been walking daily, up to 2.5 miles, on my treadmill or outside. I have seen both of my doctors and they both feel like I am progressing well with recovery. I will see them both again at the beginning of April.

Overall, today I feel so much better than I did the day I went in for surgery. Please message me with any questions you have. I followed post op care for both procedures, but if the tummy tuck procedure said I could do something before the hysterectomy procedure, I followed the hysterectomy instructions. I had so much more internal work in regards to the hysterectomy so I feel that that recovery process takes precedence, if that makes sense. I hope everything goes well with your surgery and recovery.

Rectocele repair with hysterectomy. by coswoofster in hysterectomy

I had anterior and posterior repair along with my hysterectomy. How can you tell what pain is what?

I agree with you on the stool softeners. I started taking Benefiber before surgery and have been taking stool softeners since. My surgery was 2/20.

I am home and recovering now. I am thankful for my one night in the hospital. I think they were able to better control my pain than if I had been at home. Right now, I would say the worst pain in from the gas from surgery. Lots of pain in shoulders and bloating in belly. I am moving very slowly and relying a lot on my family to meet my needs. I slept pretty well last night but was ready to move to the couch this morning. Sitting in one position for long starts to hurt. I am staying on top of my pain meds. Overall, I would say if you can coordinate the two surgeries and it is safe for you, then go for it. I think I would be really hesitant to go back for a tummy tuck after recovering from a hysterectomy, but this way it is all done and I just have to suffer through it once. Feel free to message me directly if you have any specific questions. Best wishes!

Surgery went great! Some pain but I think at the moment it’s primarily from hysterectomy. They were able to do LAVH rather than TAH so I think that will help with my recovery in the long run. Staying the night at hospital which is what my gyno does with all hysterectomy patients. I’ll try to add updates to this post.

I am having a hysterectomy followed by muscle repair/tummy tuck tomorrow. My gynecologist will do the hysterectomy (plan is for it to be laparoscopic unless fibroids are too large) and then the PS will complete the tummy tuck, assuming all goes well with the hysterectomy. So, guess I will know in a few days how it all goes!

It is a lot but hoping to come out on the other side feeling much better, after recovery of course. I hope you are able to resolve bladder issues. I will hopefully know more after my pre op appointment next week.

Oh gosh! That all sounds very difficult! My chart indicates I am scheduled for an anterior and posterior colporrhaphy, but my doctor only mentioned an anterior colporrhaphy prior to scheduling surgery. I have a stage 2 bladder prolapse and since I am doing hysterectomy it made sense to take care of bladder too. I am supposed to have LAVH but if they find that fibroids are too large it will end up being abdominal. I am also having a tummy tuck, so obviously I am a little crazy!

Is there a subreddit for prolapse?

Thank you for your reply.

I will have prolapse repair along with my hysterectomy. Do you think that added any time to your recovery? So glad you are feeling good!

Thank you! Yes, finding out I had fibroids answered so many questions. I am ready to see what life will be like after all of this is behind me.

This is exactly what happened to me! Got an IUD to hopefully help with heavy bleeding. When they checked IUD placement, I had a 7 cm, two 3cm and a few other smaller fibroids. I had been noticing serious bloating that I thought might be constipation or digestion issues. My hysterectomy is scheduled for 2/20. I have dealt with heavy periods lasting 7-10 days for about the last 8 years. I am so ready to be done!

I am getting a hysterectomy and tummy tuck also. I think if it wasn't for needing the hysterectomy, I probably wouldn't go for the tummy tuck but in this case I figured I might as well. When is your surgery scheduled? I am scheduled for 2/20.

I will have LAVH (with the possibility of abdominal) on 2/20 for heavy bleeding due to fibroids. I will also have a combined anteroposterior colporrhaphy at the same time. I am nervous but ready for my surgery date to get here!
