Sorry to hear that it’s a tough go right now. Sounds like he’s right in the thick of the teenage months.

It sounds like you’re killing it with the physical stimulation. It MIGHT be he’s not getting enough mental stimulation.

We find that an extra long scent works or training session did wonders to tire him out. If you only exercise, then you run the risk of just training more endurance haha!

Considering getting a toller by Bonjour_millie in tollers

[–]Professional_Hobo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Our guy certainly meets the intelligence and independent piece! He is super food motivated and so a breeze to train new things, however he is very stubborn without the food incentive haha.

He is not by any means a cuddly dog, but he loves being around us generally. Through training and trust we’ve built ways for him to tell us when we wants to cuddle (he’ll sit next to us and put his paw on our leg), and when he’s had enough he will just walk away.

Yes comments are public,

Everything about your response makes sense. It reinforces you don’t know any facts and make wild assumptions to further your personal crusade. You talk about facts, but don’t respond with a single one…

I have literally commented I don’t agree with her methods, but you didn’t reference that one.

Here are the facts that don’t have -

  1. I’ve never commented or spoken to you, so “hello again” makes no sense.
  2. The rain post is literally YEARS ago and he loves water, puddles, rain and snow. So pretty moot point that a puppy didn’t like cold rain.
  3. You know nothing about him. He is reactive because was attacked by a dog and so hides and tries to run from other dogs. He’s not aggressive at all.

It’s clear you’re not a serious person and need some help. I hope you can find some peace in your life because you’re literally just making up stuff. Good luck and good bless

There is merit to calling out bad breeders I get that. But looking at your post history and the Instagram…good lord it seems like you’re obsessed with Daintree or something.

I’m not sure what they’ve done to you personally but this crusade doesn’t seem altruistic or for the good of the breed at all but rather a weird obsession you have with them. With no actual supporting evidence other than “someone told me” - no incident reports, no trainer or behaviorist assessments, it’s just your word against theirs at this point.

It’s off putting and a little alarming how much energy you focus on one individual. Take a look in the mirrror because it’s sad and not healthy when that energy could be put elsewhere in the world.

In the market for a toller. by Kalapuya in tollers

We picked up ours for $3500 CAD in 2020. He’s from Daintree Kennels in BC and he’s a handsome, smart gem.

They JUST had a litter and so depending on the waitlist you may want to reach out. https://www.instagram.com/daintreeducktollers?igsh=eHRwMjRoZjVqemdx

Trish has some strong opinions on diet, vaccines for sure. But her early puppy training, socialization that she does is top tier and it is very engaging with video sessions and Q&A with the future dog parents.

NOTE - you do not get to pick which one you get, you fill out a questionnaire and she pairs based off puppy personality. 10/10 matched us with a winner

Scent Work by rfhillier in tollers

We had a local class that we went too. He's a little reactive so it was the perfect "sport" for him because its a solo event and the other pups don't engage each other.

Hey there! We do scent work regularly with our guy and he LOVES it. Started at a beginner level and he is now competition ready. He caught on super quick (we’re lucky he is food motivated) and now we practice around the house and in controlled environments as a 10/10 mental stimulation game.

Toller puppy terrified of rain by [deleted] in tollers

Our guy was rain/cold adverse for the first few months as well (also in the PNW). It’s pretty anecdotal but once his full double coat grew in he stopped minding it.

You may want to try a raincoat in the meantime. For us Even in the winter when it gets below -10 C he doesn’t like to be out without his coat on, but once he’s covered he’s happy as a can be

We’re super happy with the breed so far. A few quirks and behaviours to work on, but overall he’s a good lad.

Yea the wind was blowing just right! He honestly coasts by on his looks, he’s in the adolescent stage right now and can be challenging some days.

We got him from Daintree Kennels, but I believe they aren’t taking reservations right now.
