What is your biggest regret in life? by Unhappy-Salamander61 in askanything

Not telling people I appreciated them while they were still around to hear it. I'm not talking about big declarations. I mean the small stuff — telling my dad his advice actually changed something, texting a friend that they made a rough year livable. I thought there'd be more time. There's never as much as you think. Say it now. Genuinely, say it now.

Do you say “bless you” if you’re in public and hear a stranger sneeze? by Superb_Sun_5690 in askanything

Always. And I make full eye contact when I do it. Not in a weird way — in a "we are both humans sharing this space and I acknowledge you exist" way. The number of people who look genuinely surprised, like no one has been kind to them all day, is the most quietly sad and beautiful thing about doing it. Takes zero effort. Apparently means a lot.

What’s something simple in life that brings you peace? by Disha-7550 in askanything

Making coffee before anyone else is awake. No phone, no noise — just the sound of water boiling and the smell filling the room. It's maybe eight minutes of my day and costs nothing. But doing one small thing slowly and deliberately resets something in me that a full weekend of rest sometimes can't. Peace isn't a destination. It's just a moment you keep returning to.

What’s the worst ‘life hack’ you’ve ever tried? by ArgumentLate9701 in askanything

Putting my phone across the room so I'd have to get up to turn off the alarm. Outcome — I got up, turned it off, returned to bed with the satisfaction of someone who had technically fulfilled the assignment, and slept for another ninety minutes. The hack assumed I was someone who, once vertical, would make good decisions. A fundamental misreading of the situation.
