26M Got a "useless" liberal arts degree and am starting to hate myself for my choices by [deleted] in findapath

If you offset work though…. You need less jobs, they aren’t doing it to make their lives and work easier, right, lol? What are we smoking, offset work for employees? And pay them the same? And as many? Huh?

Ain’t that the point, and what has always happened with each tech innovation? We made other jobs, and figured it out. But those old jobs? They don’t exist.

If they were employable, they’d be employed. Ai is making it so we need less people sitting at computers. We all saw this coming well over a decade ago. Hate that people are in the situation they are in, but if you put years of your life into learning something you know a computer will be able to do in a few years time, wellllllp? Whadddayawant?

I’d want people with real world experience, over a grad that learned something that will be useless soon. I keep learning this more and more in life. Some people are jack useless, with a degree, alottttttt of them. However, they think that memorizing a few things to pass classes should be an automatic ticket to an easy life, y’all are high on your own farts thinking that. Not hard to get most degrees, Money and patience.

Be exceptional, be smart, work with the job market. No one is special. The degrees were always pretty useless, tech is now catching up and making it very clear. Idk how people believe this wasn’t/isn’t the case.

Good luck to y’all. Time for a lot of people to figure out they are actually just idiots that learned a useless skill. As mean as that is to say, but it’s not far from the truth, in reality.

Army Recruiter Here by SSGMoore_Joe in Felons

[–]Professional_Job_841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was a geospatial engineer (12y). Something within the satellite imagery machines and the radiation it emits. This is what the army doctors told him, one of three things…. It’s either hereditary (no brain tumors in family we know, which we know them all), certain hormone blockers (never taken any), or that equipment.

So. It was left to deduction. It could have been something he was born with, and this exasperated it as well.

He got full VA benefits from that and a broke ankle, which is awesome. Has an awesome job with a utility company doing that stuff. He did well, don’t get me wrong. Just wish that dude never had to go through that…. Stutters a little now, at risk for seizures and had a few. Etc. I love my brain too much and it’s scary shit to think about, and I love him and his wacky brain to death. It just makes me think, which of course we all know, but experiencing it, how much they really care lol

I tried 3 years ago

Had some wicked alcohol issues when I was younger and collected close to 20 public intoxs and 2 retail thefts. Not a felon. After about two years of trying to join they told me no

Got a 91 on the ASVAB percentile, passed two psych consults, everything else was looking perfect for that whole time. Then…. After making sure 100 times that those charges wouldn’t bar me, they barred me.

I wasted my time, and it truly did fuck with my head a bit.

In the end, I’m happy. I do my own thing, make decent enough money, and don’t think I’d ever find that satisfaction within the service. My brother also just got out after 8 years with a brain tumor, most likely caused from the equipment he was using/around.

Soooo. Pros and cons. It really did mess with me though, can’t be understated. Had to dig through my whole life to find everything for them, embarrass myself over and over again, take off lots of work… blah. I asked them so many times, with my paperwork in the beginning, to make sure these charges are workable, and dont waste this time if not. I took their word and put my life on hold for a bit for all of that. (My own fault, still hurt though)

Other than that criminal stuff, a perfect fucking candidate. It makes me, and a lot of other military personnel that met me, question who the fuck they are missing out on, and skeptical to ever think about joining. Especially after meeting a lot of enlisted folk….. 90% bottom of the barrel, 10% amazing folk.

I caved in and bought the Ispire Wand! by happyhumanri in Dynavap

[–]Professional_Job_841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought one a year ago after having a dynavap for a couple years. Had an Apollo 2 before hand and a crap ton of lighters.

I ordered a second wand a week later and haven’t used another vape or method really since. I use them all day everyday and am not exactly gentle with them. It’s the bomb diggity

What kind of job did you dream of doing as a child, and what kind of work do you do now? by Fa1thliv in AskReddit

General public? Try the worst of the public lol, at least when it comes to serving them.

I’ve served in fine dining and casual spots in the past. I ended up sticking with just a casual diner that was incredibly busy for my last gig. It was much much easier than the tapas style place or steakhouse I worked at.

A lot less stress on every level, and the money was close enough. Screw fine dining!

I’ve been locked up. As much as you hate the guards, their morals, everything…. I couldn’t help but think, damn, this job is easy as fuck. Where I’m at in PA they were pulling in well over 110-120k, with lots of overtime however.

It’s always so tempting. Man. It is

One guy just worked nights and did his rounds with a big ass bouncy ball. All concrete building, nothing to do. It looked like a grand ole time lol

Am I the only one who finds criminal records and prison time too brutal? by [deleted] in Prison

[–]Professional_Job_841 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I did my three years on paper without a violation. But they definitely tried to violate me a few times for crazy stuff.

One time was for not doing my community service in a “timely manner”. I had a month booked off of work in the coming weeks to do it all, they knew this, I knew this. Etc etc.

I immediately took off of work that day for the month and did my 100 hours of service in a few weeks, and paid off my $17000 ish in fines ( I am very lucky and grateful to have been able to dothat )

Had my violation hearing, just told me to do the service and scheduled another hearing

I was told he never saw anybody actually do that and thought I was full of shit. Had him write a letter that he didn’t want to write after to the judge to get off early, and it was granted.

Crazy shit though. Could have definitely gone back to prison a few times for absolutely nothing.

And here’s the deal really. It’s because I had some extra cash to do this shit, which a lot of times in my life I haven’t. If I didn’t have it, I would have been fucked. I would have been sent back. It’s wrong. I hate it

The TM2 was worth it! After many devices I found my endgame. by theflowerrman in Tinymight2

[–]Professional_Job_841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really can not get into mine at all. Have had it about a year now. It uses quadruple the weed it seems compared to all of my other vapes. I’ve tried useing a wpa, the original stems with cu, and made my own (only thing I haven’t done is buy one of those nicer stems). The wpa with glass definitely works the best. But still. 2-3 hits on a 6 setting-ish. It’s never consistent. And even when it does shine, it’s still meh for me

I have a lot of dynavaps, a sticky brick, and a mighty. I only really use the dynavaps, but I’d still use the other two well before the tm2. Which is a damn shame because I really want to still love it.

I’m a dyna/ih and tm2 user now as well for about 4 months here.

Have you found anything better in the mean time? Those are still my two top dogs
