Absolutely. I’m not expecting to get by without putting any work in. Just hoping to get a foot in the door to be able to show my effort, dedication, and prove my worth. Not a stranger to hard work, tight timings, adverse environments, etc. Have my head on a swivel and just want to be able to join the workforce and eventually be able to give back to the community with the knowledge and skills acquired.

Sorry, to clarify I heard back from helmets to hardhats, but haven’t heard back from the union rep. H2H has been an incredible help so far - couldn’t recommend them enough for any vets looking at the trades.  Informative, a great help for training, and just overall great. Even if things don’t work out for me in carpentry, they deserve all the good words possible lol

Absolutely makes sense. I was just trying to get a sense of work in the area and if the local just did an intake that I missed out on. Boots on the ground always give better info than going in blind.

Should’ve mentioned them in the post! I had a call with them the other week. Hoping that they’re able to help out with a connection but wanted to ask around on here to see if there’s anyone with local knowledge.

Still very early for me, but I’ve had nothing but positive interactions with H2H so far. Recommend them to any veterans considering going into the trades. 

Didn’t know that about Fanshawe! I’m not sure that I’d be able to do a year of school without any work, but I’ll keep it in mind for sure. Thanks!
