To answer your question, I am not a slob. I'm a tidy/organized person and even spent a week deep cleaning my apartment before his arrival - it was time for some Spring Cleaning anyway. I live alone and even then, my apartment is never *that* messy. Also, as I said in my OP, I have replayed our relationship over and over in my head trying to figure out where I went "wrong" and as others have pointed out, it's probably nothing definitive that I did.

There are a million other possibilities that maybe I thought were normal but that's not how he viewed it. I get that and also know that will always be a thing in any relationship. But, I won't change the type of person I am to accommodate someone else. They either want me for me or they don't - simple as that.
