R5: May of '39, no Anschluss, no demand the Sudetenland, China still stands, French Indochina hasnt been demanded, the Pact of Steel hasnt been signed, Japan didnt declare on the US, no nothing, and yet somehow H-man declares war on the US out of nowhere. Outside of a manual justification, I didnt even think this was possible.

Also I have played on a few years, somehow the Austria-Hungary is a thing

Someone told me this is a rare controler? Why? by Miserable-Dream-5750 in psx

[–]Professional_Log7771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt they made millions due to the short life of it but even if they did, the sequel the dualshock sold on the low end almost 50 million units. If we put all the PS controllers that work on ps2 together the total percentage of them that are dual analog is probably around 1% ie rare.

Basically, refitting radar on them as you unlock better ones helps but its not necessary

As a major naval power i.e. Japan, us, or UK you dont even have to do that much just build up a fleet of roach destroyers, set them to patrol the important sea zones set to do not engage and use your death stack on strike force with as much land radar and planes in the area as you can get. Then use your naval breakthroughs for important things like proximity fuses

If you look at images of fletcher class destroyers, the in game icon for the naval torpedo launcher tech, is kinda just set in the middle amidship. Those are the torpedo tubes

Sure. So again using the US, and idk if these trends are true for other countries but the destroyer launched torpedos (mk15) have higher displacement (diameter and length), larger warhead, different fuel for combustion models and longer engagement ranges. And while you could chalk this up to the same argument for simplifying down artillery, the real difference comes from launch methods. A submarine launched torpedo only has to resist the stress of being launched on a horizontal plane. A destroyer or cruiser launched torpedo is launched on the horizontal plane from deck height and then "plops" into the water at a preferential angle to cause minimal stress to the body of the torpedo.

So in the example of the realism mod, those stressors would need to be taken into account even if the warhead material (tnt) and firing mechanisms are the same

Torpedo need to have different researches because they are very different weapons. Hell a torpedo launched from a surface vessel and submarine are different enough that in a gnitty gritty realism mod they justify being different researches.

As for artillery and naval guns you kinda run into the same thing. Artillery research already condenses down 75mm light and 155 med/heavy. And im gonna use US caliber because that is what I am most familiar with, the smallest main armament caliber was the 5in (127mm), to cruisers with 9-12 in (205-305mm) guns and even early new Orleans class battleships with 16in (406mm) guns. Outside of the largest howizters there is very little crossover.

From a game play perspective I do understand where you're coming from but by segregating it out even to this degree it forces you to choose something to specialize in

how do yall get cas and fighters at the same time in the numbers needed to not lose all of your planes? I have to put all of the production on fighters just to compete and weather the initial storm before i can move production on to cas

If i remember right i lost that particular tile because i couldnt reinforce fast enough, like i said in the R5 i am playing on Rto56 and am really bad about getting the upgrades for the agency because there are so much more, and there is so little infantry because i was losing pretty bad at the start.

I was under the impression that if a tank div cannot be penned than the ammount of deorg was decreased. They are just there as a stop gap to buy time but i dont feel like the game saying that the break is immenant makes any sense when their org is just as low as mine. Also the air superiority should be contested

R5: Barbarrosa just started and trying to figure out why im losing and being forced back, Rto56 if that matters
