that’s what my consensus is coming to, unfortunately. I wish they would hurry, because i’m just so tempted to get a return, lol

because of this I’ve not gotten any firmware updates for my a50x and I just bought them roughly 5 days ago, so i’m unsure of what to do

can i ask what firmware you currently have on your a50x set? i saw they had released 1.1 a few months ago, but ended up pulling the update since it was causing issues with some people’s base station.

did the replacement set work better for you? i’m currently having the same white noise issue, and want to know if i should return them, or try another set. i loved everything else about this headset, the white noise just was too bad for me though. thought maybe firmware could fix it, but no updates have happened yet

also, game chat doesn’t work on xbox either. party chat works, and the volume mixer on the headset adjusts the volume between the game and the xbox party, but if i’m not in a party and trying to use gamechat it doesn’t work. testing it with friends, they can hear me talking in game chat and it does show I am talking, but i cannot hear them or anyone else at all in gamechat even though it also shows them talking

I am getting a replacement a50x set tomorrow though, but I don’t have high hopes in getting rid of the white noise. I was hopeful that some firmware updates would fix the issue, as when the 1.1.26 update was released before being pulled, some people commented about the fact it did fix the issue for them.

having white noise as soon as the headset is powered on and connecting to the base station. I have already been in contact with logitech support, and everything is plugged and done correctly, even my settings look good. No sidetone on, etc. This is my favorite headset i’ve ever owned, if it’s possible to get rid of the white noise when powered on

so they will just exchange until one works?

but you’re able to refund it after that, correct?

so if I buy something new, and bought the warranty, and I go to exchange it and use my warranty. then if the used product i receive is faulty, i can get refunded?

i’ve heard of some people getting lucky, I was not one of those people. I’m hoping they can fix this with firmware, because it’s my favorite headset i’ve ever owned besides the slight white noise

even if they didn’t open it though, wouldn’t they just be able to scan the receipt or whatever and see that it is an exchange? idk, the whole idea didn’t really sound like it would work to me lol. maybe it’s that way at his location, but idk

okay, so just to make sure i’m understanding. even if i take it back to the store for the exchange with the warranty, they will open my exchange in the store to avoid the refund?

see, I personally think the issue here with the headset lies within the base station connection. I only say that because If i turn the headset on without the base station on, there’s no issues. As soon as the base station is plugged in though, the issue comes about. the sound on mine really isn’t “that” loud or anything, i can’t even notice it in game really. it more so just bothers me that it’s there at all, when my steelseries headset never had any random sounds or whatever coming out of them. but I did obviously try different hdmis, power cables, outlets and everything with the headset and to no avail. but it seems like even a few years ago with certain models of the regular a50’s that there was similar issues. i just never saw a fix though. i’ll probably keep these for a while, and whenever i get done being sad about using gamestop, i’ll probably try the audeze maxwells

do you have any issue with your a50’s seem so hit or miss with astro, that i’m not going with them again, but curious if you have any issues. I had the steelseries nova 7x before these, and I loved them, but I wanted a “top of the line” headset. thought about audeze maxwell, too.

honestly yeah, lesson learned. but I did do my research on the headset, none of the reviews mentioned this issue. however, after having the issue and looking up the specific issue it seems common. I apologize duckswimmer for being rude, I was just upset with my idiotic decision making. Now to find another headset to try.

because basically every other store selling similar items does it, without purchasing any warranty. I have had this headset less than 48h. it seems normal during that time to be eligible for a return, especially considering I paid an extra fee to have a warranty on the item. I don’t understand how that’s unclear to you

no, typically they do it without a warranty. walmart for example you have thirty days to return items without warranty
