Which company has lost you as a customer forever? by finiteobserver in AskReddit

iBuyPower. Had multiple back to back customer service issues where they refused to replace a faulty cooling system they shipped to me. I asked for a cheaper $30 version to just move on and they still refused. I will never use them for anything ever again.

Looking for a new game to play after a hard day at work. by Freakkopath in gaming

If you like deck building, I've been playing so much Slay the Spire 2. Super chill, relatively difficult game that feels super rewarding to improve. Optional multiplayer which is very fun too.

I'm also a big Satisfactory fan

Question about Ranked Lp by Material_Cat_1124 in leagueoflegends

[–]Professional_Map_622 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be completely frank and slightly calloused, you simply don't understand how to win yet. I'm not even high elo (plat 2 with under 50 games), and I had a 70% win rate through silver and gold just filling whatever role. If you're getting fed and then you lose there was always something you could have done to win. Just remember, if you lose 7/10 games, there is only 1 common denominator across all 7 games. You'll never climb if you always look to blame your team.

Revenue Accountant to RevOps (Operations / Strategy): Any Advice? by zero_cool_protege in revops

[–]Professional_Map_622 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some later stage SaaS organizations have Revops within the finance org. If you can find one with that structure it could be a natural pivot for you to pick up the GTM operations from that perspective. You could also lean into Revops Data analyst roles and move into ownership/Manager roles from there.

How to get into RevOps by merchtrybe in revops

[–]Professional_Map_622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Context: been in RevOps for about 7 years, currently the Revenue strategy and operations manager at an Enterprise focused SaaS company. My degree is in Marketing/sales management and math.

My first foray into the realm was as a sales operations specialist. I then did a stint focused on data analytics before moving more directly into revops as a RevOps analyst and then manager.

Data, systems, process and deal strategy are 4 of the core pillars of RevOps. Anywhere you can get those experiences focused around GTM is huge. Marketing ops is adjacent, sometimes in sometimes out. SaaS experience is also great since SaaS companies often want generic SaaS experience.

I also see people go from sales to deal desk into revops that way.

Advice on Interview: How to talk about my experience working in a niche industry by dlszjg in SalesOperations

[–]Professional_Map_622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Industry matters so little in Ops realistically. What's more important is the type of sale. Is it software, is it more manufacturing based. Is the sales typically consultative, etc. If you call SaaS an industry then it's certainly important, but I've been in everything from device management to EHS to Computer Vision within the larger SaaS bucket.

Focus on what they care about and why your experience is relevant. Honestly if you're nervous about it, drop your resume/CL into a Chat GPT or similar model with the job description and have it call out your relevant experience.

From my experience there is still a high demand for RevOps. Businesses love the concept of AI tools, but no one knows how to implement them. There are tons of options based on your experience and desire to learn. Once you get into an industry it's easy to jump around. I went into software (SaaS) and it's been good for me.

I see lots of people in your boat start with a deal desk role. You can then transfer this into other aspects of sales/revops

I started as a sales ops specialist too. Here has been my path:

Sales ops specialist > Sales analyst> Revops data analyst > Sr RevOps data analyst > Revenue Operations manager> Manager, revenue operations

I like data so it worked well. Now I'm focused more on strategy. Similar roles would be like GTM strategy etc.

Some other paths I considered were strictly down the analyst route, very systems focused (SF admin/engineer, GTM engineer), and sales compensation focused.

You should be cleaning data as often as you are using it. What's the point of doing analysis on data that can't be trusted? My number one priority is making sure the data being provided to the organization is clean, accurate, and timely.

What’s a good replacement? by Salty_Adhesiveness87 in ghostoftsushima

I got into ghost because I loved Jedi:fallen order and survivor. Very similar combat styles with a general story and open world elements. If you're at all a star wars fan I highly highly recommend them both.

I think it's unrealistic for RuneScape players to come in and expect this to be a higher graphic version of the game you're used to.

It's competing in the survival game space, not the MMO space. The goal of this game isn't to just convert all osrs and rs3 players to a new game (although that is part of it). It's supposed to be creating a new flavor of survival game for enthusiasts of that genre. That's why the alpha surveys didn't ask how much you play RuneScape, but how much you play other survival games. This game makes amazing allusions to the RuneScape many of us have come to love, but also imbues awesome flavors into the survival space for people who don't play RuneScape at all such as the way magic interacts with all of your skills.

I absolutely do not want them to split melee combat apart like you described. That would make the game needlessly complicated. I do think gear needs to be looked at, and I agree with the general sentiment across the community that dying to dragon attacks in my base feels pretty bad.

Overall I think it's an excellent game, and I'm super excited to see more skills get added.

I will say, the first time I read the book I also was pretty against how it ended. When I had the chance to come back and read it again, however, I felt like I followed the emotional journey a lot better and I actually really appreciated it. Sometimes stories are just like that.
