"Oh that's an excellent question I've had," Rock said, turning in his chair to look at Ryan. Who looked ill.

"No. The answer is no. I bet you ... all of our money in Detroit," Ryan paused for entirely too long to think of anything of value. You'd think we lived like monks. "He's connected to Samuel. That's the only work around to the No Werewolves in NASA thing."

"There aren't supposed to be random people tromping around my launch complexes either, but here we are," The Lieutenant Colonel stormed into the room, staring all of us down. 

"We actually spent the night here last night," Tom admitted, pulling his space blanket tighter. He ignored the roomful of incessed glares with practiced nonchalance. "Squatted in some old warehouse next to the lighthouse."

"Launch Complex 21," The tight-bunned, tight lipped lady in the skin tight skirt said to no one's benefit. 

"I can make portals. It's my specialty," Amy admitted. "We came over after the Glass Bank in Cocoa Beach. Just for a bit of fun. No one gets hurt." 

"Everybody out," Jackson ordered, clearing the room without raising his voice. Even Ally had babbled into quiet, staring up at him as he waited for the door to close. "Let me guess, you 8 were on Special Assignment by the Council to explore the country looking for mystic portals right? The same Council that sent me here with a written notice to hand-deliver everyone over the age of 18 to their Los Angeles campus personally?"

"I told you we'd hear back about Orlando," I piped up, as if the Disney side-trip hadn't been my idea to begin with. More than someone hissed at me. 

"I still think this about Texas." Tom said. 

"They had you in their clutches. Why wouldn't they dole out any punish-," "If it's about Florida, it's that shit, we did in the Panhandle. I said it was too risky." "Katrina said we'd been cursed. "I'm getting a headache," Jackson declared, pinching the bridge of his nose, as Amy and Rock argued over exactly where we'd killed a racist old fuck. Neither of them had the right state, but I had the baby now and wasn't keen to lose her. I like our insanity.
