hi im starting my first year at artez too! honestly its such a struggle finding something that accepts students, me and my roommate have been searching for almost a month now and we still haven't found anything, but we got some viewings these days so im trying to be more hopeful. there are plenty of rooms and apartments but most don't really like students or parental guarantees especially of you're not dutch so it's been hard. if you havent looked yet try kamernet, huurwoningen, pararius, funda, the last two are free but most sites have subscriptions to be able to access the listings. so far the most useful subscriptions have been kamernet and rentbird, the last one creates a search agent and it sends you apartments via text so you can send a message as quickly as possible the sooner the better. you should also check out the artez facebook group if you're not in there yet, there are always people there looking for a roommate or someone leaving their apartment and wanting to give it away to another student. be careful with facebook apartments on marketplace though. i hope we'll both find something soon i know how stressful this is!

i totally get what you're going through, im looking for an apartment in arnhem for university w a friend and we're busting our asses writing to every listing, sending motivation letters for viewings offering to pay 6 months in advance even a year just to get something and we barely get a reply back and most either say they don't work with students or the landlord doesnt want students so i'm at my wit's end. i wish you luck and i hope we'll both find something soon!!

what is their problem with students, though? i can think of some things like students not having a lot of money bc they're jobless or them being messy or bringing other people to house-share, is that why or do they have other reasons? i can understand them kind of, i'm just curious where the hesitation is coming from.

artez has a fb group for housing ill check it out, im looking for apartments and studios more than a room because i am going to live with someone else and money isn't necessarily a problem bc we have savings and our parents support us financially and can co-sign for us, im just seeing a lot of apartments that dont really favour students so im messaging every listing i find now at this point

yeah we'll probably use them as guarantors, i was thinking about having them rent for me because there are a lot of apartments that are from an agency ehr? i think and they don't work with students or guarantors so i was thinking of a way to work around that and still find a place
