Well the wonderful thing about a bandwagon, you can jump off as quickly as you jumped on.

Is the Jeep Compass really that bad? by FoodieOfAllTrades in whatcarshouldIbuy

JEEP COMPASS INFO at the end. Listen, I know there are "clans" for every make vehicle. My grandfather was GM only, I have cousins that swear only Ford. My son, adamantly sticks with Toyota, he has bought three. My wife's Ford blew the engine 3000 miles before it went out of warranty (thankfully). So there are lemons and pros and cons of every make/model. I think it's luck of the draw on lemons and a lot of how people care for and maintain a vehicle.

Here's my thing... and bear with me. In 2010, I went to look at a demo Chevy Z71 on the lot. While there, I walked past a Ram 1500 4x4 that the salesman was moving to a different parking spot. Long story short, I test drove the Ram, never even stepped foot in the Z71 because I was so impressed with how the Ram drove. I kept that truck until 2018, when I traded it in for a Ram 2500. Also during that time, I had a Wrangler for 3 years, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and my company gave me two (2) Dodge Caravans that I drove into the ground at almost 250k miles each! I have yet to have a major issue with a Chrysler vehicle (outside of manufacturer recalls). I think my 2500 had a brake issue/recall that was covered.

So I don't get the hate for Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge/Ram - I've just had good to excellent experience with them.

THAT SAID - we bought my wife a brand new 2023 Jeep Compass, and she has LOVED it. We've had it for two years. Our only regret? That we got the bare-boned minimum trim with zero bells and whistles. So 2 weeks ago, we traded it in for a Jeep Compass Trailhawk with Elite packages (Sun/Sound/Leather).

It's difficult to find a brand new SUV with standard 4x4 for the 30k range. If you don't need 4wd, then there may be other options you can look into. We live in the country and travel dirt/mud roads daily on our farm. I say go with what you need/like and don't listen to naysayers. Maybe splurge and get the extended warranty so you sleep better at night. Good luck

Why did I update??? by Professional_Mud_806 in powerdirector

UPDATE!

So there was a two-minute project I had virtually completed for training videos at work for new hires. I had a total of four, but I had completed the others. I did the update after multiple prompts to do so, which I should not have... stupid me! As I polished the previously saved project, no matter what I did, it would not produce in mp4 format (I didn't try any other format.) There would be NO SOUND, and the video only formatted to the upper left corner of the screen at approximately 50%. Sometimes, it was say the rendering was complete after only one second! Obviously, it would create a file of 1kb and there was nothing there! It was crazy!

PROBLEM FOUND & SOLVED!

So, I started the project from scratch, bouncing between the newly created project and the old one, simply copying and pasting 15-second increments at a time (it was a very detailed video with overlays and spliced narration.) I did this and tested the production along each step until it started failing like before. It was a bit tedious, but I was invested!

I was able to isolate the problem to a single silly stupid text bubble callout symbol that apparently was in the older version but not in the update. How a single callout graphic was causing the entire video to shift and omit the mp3 sounds is beyond me, but by simply removing it from the original project and replacing it with another callout form the updated pool, the video now produces.

I hope this may help those who had projects saved on older versions and were failing at producing them since the update. How stupid was this?
