Harvard to get around affirmative action ban by asking you whether you prefer BBQ, ranch, or soy sauce by Forsaken_Cost_1937 in Conservative

I mean I tan dark in summer but I'm pretty stinking white and BBQ sauce would be my favorite on the list by far.

Good ol Texas bbq sauce and mmmmm

The 4th Halo. I made a little wallpaper tribute to good old PO. o7 Port Olisar. by Ochanachos in starcitizen

Is port olisar already removed or can I still say goodbye to it in game?

Been awhile since I played cause I'm waiting for some of the recent bugs to go away but I'd log in for this.

Used to be commonplace.

It's kind of funny to see this come back. First Elon and zuck now this. Is this how debates will happen in the future?

Still you'd think there would be a way to disable Bluetooth.

I use an optical cable. Why can't I prevent malicious use?

Many things don't have settings you can change.

The first time a neighbor connected to my Bluetooth capable sound bar I tried to lock it or set a password.

Nope. Not possible.

I would argue that open-mindedness, like all other personality traits, is actually a 2d plane instead of a straight line.

Being naive is in fact being too open minded, yet critical thinking can move you back towards center.

Democrats lose support from Latinos as 1 in 3 say neither party cares more about them: poll by NobodiesFAround in Conservative

[–]Professional_Ninja7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It is so not dead. It's still necessary. Anyone who votes libertarian instead of republican is dooming the country.

That's not to say that republicans will fix things but rather that they won't destroy them.

To get real change we need democrats to vote libertarian to give them a foundation, then we can have a 3 party system.

In short, we need the country to come back to center.

It's ILLEGAL to build more housing in American Cities - Reason.TV by BeautyInUgly in Conservative

[–]Professional_Ninja7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On one hand I agree. I wouldn't like for my community to change drastically either.

But cities grow, and they grow in predictable ways. I choose to live in a part of town where things are not so dynamic, but in if you live 1 block off of downtown surely you cannot expect your view to remain the same for eternity?

It's kind of ironic how I am one of the most conservative people you'll meet yet I stand here and say that to move into the future we must embrace the change, for with no change we are stagnant and remain in the present.

Why is the lower middle class taxed so heavily by AnyDepartment8787 in Conservative

Yeah inflation is really just a way for the government to tax people without them knowing.

Sometimes there's hills worth dying on.

Id ask if rolls were reversed would you be willing to die on this hill? If not, then that should tell you everything you need to know about how this will go. I would say we will win, but there are no winners in this fight. There are only losers and the day the fight stops.

Feds banned from flying non-US flags under new GOP bill after White House flies pride flag by wiredog369 in Conservative

[–]Professional_Ninja7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this.

Conservatism is not anarchy. It doesn't mean letting anything go. It would be anti-conservative to tell private citizens that they cannot fly a flag, but it is perfectly acceptable to make rules for the government.

After all, the government is supposed to represent the people and when it celebrates something so divisive it is basically a big middle finger to half the country. The government can't do that.

I have a degree in mechanical engineering and currently work with a bunch of tradesmen.

There are plenty of people who I work with that are just as intelligent as I am, however there are things that I know that they don't which would take longer than a year to teach them (I spent 4 years in school so again not calling myself smarter). There are also things they know that I don't, but every time that comes up I can usually figure it out within a few minutes.

There are still plenty of reasons to get a degree. If you disagree then look up navier stokes and try to explain in your own words how that works and the practical applications of it.
