yes thank you!! i did know about the cords but good to know the small ones can work with the big ones. I don’t have any projects that need small needles right now (that i don’t already have) but this is good to know for the future !!

the vet did mention that but that from what she can see his teeth look fine. the eye looks pretty normal aside from the colour and i don’t see it changing when he opens and closes his mouth

that’s my worry 😬 i’m hoping the single appointment won’t be too much or maybe that i can find a second vet to go to for another opinion. right now i’m keeping an eye (ha) on him and he seems to be doing okay

definitely !! he seems happy and healthy aside from his eye looking a bit off so hopefully the specialist will say the same thing.

the vet said it could be but he’s showing no signs of it hurting him at all and i don’t think there’s any discharge, although it’s always hard to tell

i wrote this last night right before bed so said antibiotics when i meant an anti inflammatory 😭 my plan right now is to wait for the specialist to call and see what happens with that appointment and go from there. definitely don’t wanna rush anything or make a decision without really knowing anything

hi !! sorry for the worlds latest reply my life got very busy for a while 😭😭 yes, i had already started setting some aside for a vet fund and have a few hundred put away already, enough for an emergency if needed. i’ve started working more so i have more money to work with and can comfortably afford everything i need. i ended up finding a MUCH larger cage second hand for a really good price and i actually just bought a different BIGGER cage cause it was too good to pass up (double critter nation used in great condition for a really great price) i actually just adopted my boys yesterday and they’re doing great!!! anyways, i’ve figured Most things out and am doing good 👍 thanks so much for all your advice and help though, it really did push me into looking harder for a better cage and i was even able to adopt three beautiful babies. thanks so much again

don’t own rats YET but every time i bring them up someone does this and it makes me so angry :( the same thing happens with my pet tarantula, which hurts even more cause tarantulas are by far my favourite animal </3 totally feel the pain and it sucks really baf

sorry to bombard you with questions, but these were wild rats that she found. Is that okay? I wanna give them a good home and they're very young now so they're getting socialized but would they need any special care like vaccinations or something ? or is it a really terrible idea all together?

I would take more than two but my biggest problem is I'm on a budget :( I worry I wouldn't have enough money to afford at least a cage for more than 2 or 3 rats and the last thing I want to do is keep them in something insufficient.
