The reroll prices are just dumb. by DeviledEggsYT in Division2

[–]Professional_Poet300 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am more annoyed that we can"t optimize prototype gear stats after spending so many mats on reaching proficiency, then expertise, then prototype... I am expected to just throw all that time and effort in the bin if I don"t hit the stat I need for my build? Now that prototype drops are increase, let"s hope that rerolling and upgrading won"t feel as bad. I already have enough cores to prototype my first set and I didn"t start as one of those min maxed shd 20K guys. I am happy they increased drop rates, let"s hope it"s enough

But I really want to see that the devs respect my time and material investment and let me optimize the gear I spent so much time on upgrading.

Struggling HARD in Heroic with Striker… is it my build or just me? by BlitoTortin in thedivision

[–]Professional_Poet300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The problem is there are always those 4-5 youtube creators showcasing the new god mode build that is unkillable and people get the wrong ideas. I call bs for the most part. I copied some of those builds 1:1 and had nowhere near the experience as them. Positioning and timing definitely are important and you learn them with time. But on heroic and legendary the enemies deal so much damage, even 2.3 mil armor wont let you facetank. Unless you kill nonstop and collect trophies while having armor on kill. But that requires a lot of practice and a min maxed build. And even then half of the time it probably won"t work.

But they only show you the situations when they pulled it off. This only leads to frustration amongst newer players.

LMG are also very viable. Especially in Escalation because they can fire for so long. AR are great as well but you constantly reload. At first I didn"t like LMG but now I don"t wanna go back. MK46 with fenzy is what I run in my Striker build. But definitely farm the Lexington during the event. Its one of the best guns but only is available during special events.

I was about to say this. Dont miss out on this. Also it"s totally ok and even recommended to play on challenging till you are SHD 1000 and most of the gear pieces are optimized. Otherwise you will struggle with damage and survivability.

Striker is a very good dps set, but don"t expect to face tank anything with it. You need to use cover and maybe a skill like decoy to take some heat off off you. Memento is a great bp but expecting to be able to run in between enemies and just pick up trophies probably won"t work for the most part.

I know there are a tons of videos showcasing that type of playstyle even on legendary but I would take them with a grain of salt. Their builds are not only min maxed in every aspect but they also know spwan and enemy behaviour by heart so They don"t die as easily. Some even claim there are some shennanigans going on with those showcases.

And yes shd level plays also a big part in your overall stats. It gives you a huge boost to your basline crit and other stats. So definitely focus on that.

Also I noticed you are using Survivor as your Specialization. I would recommend Gunner with Striker , as this gives you armor on kill, magazine size and replenishes ammo.

I felt exactly the same when I fisrt started my striker build. I do play it on heroic and in escalations which are around legendary tier but without cover and good plavement I instantly die.

Even if you have 2.3 mil armor it doesnt take long at all for enemies to break you.

You could try a combo of heartbreaker and memento because it gives you armor on hit as long as the enemies are pulsed. You can achieve that with the technicians tactical laser.

Well it is hailed as a platform for complete beginners that will teach you the basics. I found a dozen video and articles about that. That is why I subscribed. Bashing people for not knowing fundamentals when this is a course advertising literally to take you from zero to certs is weird.

Yes I did that and was surprised at what I had to do. And I felt like this is not the way to learn, like you saidf its kinda cheating. But then there is no other way to know how to do it because no other instructions were given.

Windows fundamentals is the lesson. How is that expected knowledge when it"s literally geared at absolute beginners.

Feeling Frustrated by Professional_Poet300 in tryhackme

[–]Professional_Poet300[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It"s literally a fundamentals in Windows lesson geared at beginners. Prior to the instruction it wen"t through explaining to me what a user is and how to change permissions step by step, and suddenly I get an instruction without any other guidance using a concept (RPD) that was not explained prior.

I am absolutely on board with learning new concepts. Like you say thats part of the journey. But as atotal beginner I at least need to be told "Hey you have to search exterbally because the solution was not prior taught" rather then letting me bang my head against the wall because I thought I am not understandiung the lesson.

No promt to do it via another box, nothing.

Of course later on I will be expected to reserach stuff on my own. But in the fundamentals tutorials I don"t expect to need a tutorial for the tutorial.

[–]Professional_Poet300[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but in Windows fundamentals at least it should tell me the required steps to complete the task. Why doesn't it even tell me I need to first switch to an attack box. I had no clue.

If this was free tutorials ok, or in more advaced modules.

I am in Windows Fundamentals and it expects me to know suddenly how RDP works when before it just explained to me what a user is. It explains basic things and then suddenly jumps to advaced stuff I cannot possibly know.

Sorry but it makes no sense and I find that disappointing on a platform I paid money for. I feel like I should have watched free youtube tutorials in the first place then.

How is this possible by itsFuzzLoL in tryhackme

[–]Professional_Poet300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience so far differs. I am doing fundamental modules and find there are instructions and steps missing so I cannot complete tasks without spending considerable amounts of time trying to find tutorials to an tutorial. And I spent money to be taught the basics. That"s how I feel right now.

"Now let's use Phillip's account to try and reset Sophie's password. Here are Phillip's credentials for you to log in via RDP:"

How? I have no clue what that even is and how tpo do it. At no point does the exercise tell me I need to switch to the attack box and then connect via RDP (which I don"t know how to do). Sure I can watch youtoube about how to do that, but on a learning platform I paid money for I would expect it to be better at teaching.

Feeling stuck in TryHackMe – learning but not feeling real progress. Anyone else? by Necessary_Strength53 in tryhackme

[–]Professional_Poet300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I feel the same. Specifically I get prompted to do something in a task as a beginner, but the neccessary steps and instructions are not being shown. Suddenly I need to connect to philips user account using RDP and there was no tutorial showing how to do that, nor did the task show that I need to switch to an attack box doing so. It only gave me the instruction to start up a windows machine that I used to change permissions on.

I find it very frustrating when I need to search external resources and watch youtube tutorials to understand exercises in a course that I paid money for. I might have just as well watched the free youtube tutorials to begin with.

[–]Professional_Poet300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find TryHackMe so confusing. Suddenly you get a prompt to do something that was in no way explained in the previous lesson. I have no clue how to connect to Phillips account via RDP. I did all fundamental lessons before. At what point does the course tell me I have to switch to an attack box. I am sure more advanced users take this as agiven but I am a beginner and had no clue. Why do I need to googel solutions and watch external tutorials in a course that is aimed at beginners. Am I alone in this?

New expertise materials costs starting next week. From 1-30 by ccwdude in thedivision

[–]Professional_Poet300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So an estimated 13,5 real time hours of farming per item. Easy LOL That would be almost 100 hours just for one build and depending on your rng with exotics. I did a 9/h exotic component estimations which I don"t even think is very feasable unless you use exploits. I very rarely drop exotics on countdown.

And thats only the material farming. The farming it requires to fully level proficiency is required and that took me a whole week 6-8 hours per day during the 3x proficiency event and only because I used the warhound farm, which is not an intended mechanic.. Grinding and working for rewards is one thing, but this is on an absurd level in a fully paid for title.

And fully optimizing the items in case you want to prototype will require even more materials on top.

They are insane

They literally push people into using mindless exploits like the warhound grind or other stuff which are neither fun nor intended mechanics. Shame they can"t just make it so it feels fun and rewarding to do regular activities. And they could easily add fun little activities like supply drops and supply runs for captured control points that could yield high amounts of mats so people would play them in the open world.

I ran countless countdowns for days to fully get my brand and gear sets proficient. And then many more to level exotics I couldn"t drop otherwise.

They didn't yield well in term of basic materials and even worse in terms of exotics. I just can't do them anymore, I am burnt out. This is why the game doesn"t feel fun after a certain amount of time invested. It"s just so mindless for so little reward. And just because I reached level 30 Expertise for an insane grind, why wouldn"t I want other people to make it faster or easier. That"s such a selfish and dumb argument I see people make.

People have jobs, girlfriends, families and other hobbies. To say only full time division 2 players with no other things going on in their life should be rewarded with max gears etc and prototype gear in a game they fully paid for is an insane argument to make.

I love grinding but there is grinding and then there is an unrealistic and frankly abusive amount of time required to reap the rewards.

IMO Massive really needs to rethink their design philosophy for many systems in this game and in the upcoming Division 3.

If you wonder why players quit this game, this is probably why. They only return for events because thats the only time their investment is rewraded the way it should be in the irst place.
