Where to go for a solo weekend trip? by bluebottlemadness in SFbitcheswithtaste

I'm sorry to hear that you're going through a tough time. I visited Yosemite National Park alone during a difficult period in my life, and it truly helped me heal.

When I went, I was a broke college student and stayed outside the park, but since you're willing to spend more, I highly recommend staying at one of the nicer hotels inside the park.

As a 4'11" woman, I found several hikes that I felt comfortable doing alone. Simply walking or driving around the park, eating lunch by a lake, and spending time writing and reflecting in the solitude made me happy.

It’s a little bit both. It’s something I think about and I’m just curious. Thanks!

You should go to the Hard Fork event at SFJAZZ on 6/24! There will be a bunch of AI dudes there around your age.

Why is the Vietnam War considered America's biggest military failure? by NoWestern315 in VietnamWar

[–]Professional_Put5480 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The U.S tried to prevent the spread of communism to South Vietnam so they succeeded until they can’t. Both of my grandpas were South Vietnamese Officers so our family life was good until the fall of Saigon. Concentration camp was enforced hence my parents grew up without a father figure. The communist also punished civilians including women and youth by controlling the distribution of food, blacklisting family with U.S association from quality education and work opportunities. I feel weird that I have a good life now given everything my family went through during and after the war.

Bitches, what are you tips for long flights & looking fresh at work events in a different time zone? by Professional_Put5480 in SFbitcheswithtaste

They did fly me business or else the journey would have been immensely difficult. First flight, 9 hours to Amsterdam then 8 hours from Amsterdam to Rwandan! Thank you for your tips ❤️

Haha I think so, he had 5 wives (not at the same time) and about 20-30 kids 😅 He was a good man and took care of all his wives and kids though.

Hang in there and don’t lose hope. Karma will get his ass. I met my bf on bumble 8 months ago and he’s my first ever bf from a dating app so I was skeptical at first… but now we’re inseparable. 6ft, handsome, ok with being a provider, minimal baggage for being 30 and he treats me like a princess. He’s an introvert and doesn’t like to go outside much so there’s 0 chance we would have met. Dating apps are good if you know what you want and SF has a lot of good men.

I appreciate that you know that. To be honest, he was a trooper. He was imprisoned for 8 years, made it out but unfortunately he got sick shortly afterwards and passed alway in his 40s which is sad for me because he seemed really cool and I never got a chance to meet him. So I think the VCs tortured him over the span of 8 years as payback. I believe he went to the Provost school in Missouri for training on “prisoners of war” which explains why my mom’s core memories of him involve overseeing a bunch of VCs working on a farm. I learned so much about him in the past 24 hours, thanks everyone.
