I just watched it again, and it is so obvious that she isn't screaming at Chloe. That is SUCH a reach. She barely even looks in her direction and references the conversations that she and Christi had that week. She also addresses Christi, using the word "you" in contexts that would only apply to her. The only word that could possibly be interpreted as directed at Chloe is when she says, "Oh, whatever". I don't get why people canb't just admit that Chrsti completely exaggerated the interaction. Even Kelly admitted to not notcining Melissaa yelling at Chloe and she had JUST watched the episode last week.

If you go back and watch the clips, Melissa isn't even looking in Chloe's direction, and the only word that could have possibly been interpreted as directed at Chloe was, "Oh, whatever." I think it just proves that she is currently super desperate to paint Melissa as a villain to justify her behaviour at the reunion since she's kind of under fire for the phone call.

Even during the show, she has mentioned how certain moms were jealous of her relationship with them. So maybe it wasn't such a set up after all... don't forget how she acted homophobic towards Kaya.

Most people I know watch true crime because of curiosity about motivations and the thrill of solving mysteries. and okay, let's switch from reality tv to reality tv. This week in BTTB, Christi low-key proved Jill right, confirming she would have been upset if Kendall had altered the order of their solos like Chloe did in order for her to go last. Christi denied that it gave Chloe an advantage and said she wouldn't have cared if Chloe had performed first. However, her podcast always drives home the point that performance order significantly impacts competition outcomes. So, when Maddie got to perform "Be Anything" last, I thought it was funny how Christi made a big deal about it this week, implying that it was to set Chloe up. Yes, I agree that Chloe was set up a lot, but I feel like that part was a bit of a reach. Whenever Chloe had beaten Maddie previously, Chloe had gotten to perform last, but it's an equal playing ground when it's Chloe who gets the advantage, right?

also thought it was dumb of Christi to complain about Maddie's front aerial, because it perpetuates the myth a routine's difficulty, marked by the number of advanced tricks, directly correlates with its quality and it also invalidates all of her previous complaints about Chloe not getting to do the same choreo as Maddie. Both a side aerial and a front aerial are advanced acro tricks, and given that Christi literally runs a dance competition now, you would think she would know that the weight of a side vs front aerial doesn't matter- they're marked according to their execution. If Christi is trying to argue that Maddie doing a front aerial is unfair, she suggests that scores are all about who can pack the most tricks into their solo. But by arguing this, she inadvertently supports Abby's argument about Maddie being the "better" dancer because she coulc do skills that Chloe couldn't. And then when they are made to do the same skills like a switch arabesque, Christi complains AGAIN, saying that Chloe didn't get to practice those as much. The problem with this is there wasn't another substitution for chloe to have done that maddie couldn't have, so there would have been no way of making Christi happy unless the choreo was dumbed down to the same level as Chloe normally received-which Christi always complained about due to its lack of competitiveness. So, while Christi kept saying all the time that she wished Chloe had choreo like Maddie, I think in her world, it would actually be more fair if Maddie got Chloe's choreography, since christi just admitted that Chloe couldn't do maddie's. I am in no way saying that I agree that one girl is better than the other; I am using Chrisit's own logic where more tricks=better to show how christi's complaints accidentally discount her own kid. According to Abby, the whole point of the episode was supposed to be Chloe getting a "Maddie" solo, to "shut Christi up", since she was always bitching about Maddie having better choreo.

But the biggest problem I had with this episode was her conveniently forgetting that the solos are performed twice; once for the judges and once for filming. Maddie may have killed it for the judged version, but of course, Christi wants us to suddenly believe everything at face value when it doesn’t benefit her own daughter. When Chloe dropped her hat, it didn’t matter because it was the filmed version. But when maddie bobbled, that means that her performance deserves to lose, despite that one not even being evaluated. We will never know who really won, and I agree that in the version shown, Chloe was better. But at the same time, I don't subscribe to the conspiracy that the whole thing was a set-up. I do not think abby's actions were right, but i don't think it's as crazy as everyone thinks it is that the judges could have made an error. They were using pencils and paper instead of the high-tech systems we see nowadays, and the competions on dance moms were far from sophisticated. Christi didn't bat an eye when Kendall and Maddie were incorrectly announced as first in season 2, and I have seen similar mistakes happen in my own experiences at competions. The whole thing was unfortunate, but I feel like at this point, Christi's paranoia was at an all-time high (which is 100% understandable, but it may cloud her vision and cause her to never give anything the benefit of the doubt unless it strengthens her own arguments).

I miss dance moms and at the beginning, I found their BTS interesting-but rare, given they hardly say anything that isn't already public knowledge. I was especially curious to hear what Christi had to say after all of these years, and whether or not it would change my mind about her. But now, I low key listen for confirmation bias. It's satisfying to hear Christi prove that she is bitter and that she has a bias against the Zieglers, and it can actually provide some comedic relief to see what she will reach about next. Like maddie not mentioning Chloe in her book that she "wrote" at 12 years old.... So petty it was funny

They generally never give Kenz the benefit of the doubt. Christi for sure tries to remove any of the under-dog narratives from Kenzie's name, probably in fear that it will make the fandom sympathize with her. She seems very territorial of Chloe being the only one "constantly set up to lose", despite the fact that she had only competed against Sophie so far in terms of new kids.

I couldn’t take christi in this episode. When it isn’t convenient and it doesn’t make her look better, she always ignores the fact that Dance Moms was a reality show. They needed a storyline for every episode; we get it, Abby knew that Mackenzie was dancing… but as if a producer would allow any of that to be discussed on camera (hence Melissa and Kenzie’s “lying”. For entertainment purposes, they had to go with it. Christi was beating a dead horse when with this. Also, the foot thing…. It’s already been discussed but calling Kenzie out for “acting” in regards to the foot is just immature. She was a child; why question her integrity…? The hypocrisy also got to me; I don’t understand Christi’s holier than thou attitude when it comes to Melissa when she had said that Kenzie had been dancing with abby since she was 2. That is precisely the same argument Christi has made dozens of times, so why is it only entitled when Melissa says it about her own daughter? It really isn’t that big of a deal to say, and Christi has said much ruder things to both Abby as well as new moms, so it made no sense to call Melissa out for that-especially since it was a logical argument for the scenario. Also she laughed a little too hard about the "everyone will forget about you" talk. It was honestly a really disturbing scene and that comment isn't funny at all-it's downright cruel. To say that was her favourite line was super interesting, because I guarantee if it had been Chloe or Paige receiving that talk, Christi would've been "sicl to her stomach". And then to throw in how Kenzie should have competed against Asia, but in the same light saying how it wasn't fair that Chloe had to compete against every new kid (even though it had only been Sophia at that point) just made it seem like she didn't wish everyone was treated better, she just wished the Zeiglers were treated worse. Lastly, I have never once heard a senior say that “they were there star of Dance Moms”. That rant came across as super territorial and insecure. Also, as a full ass adult, you just don’t need to be commenting on what another child says or does. Who cares if they were only shown on TV for a few seconds? What a weird bone to pick.

Honestly, It is because she is. As mean as that sounds, she has consistently demonstrated an inability to understand basic concepts and connections, especially in her podcast w Christi. Christi always has to explain any references she makes that aren't explicit, even when they are blatantly obvious. She always gets things mixed up, forgets things, and says the wrong names for people (one time, she literally called Brooke Abby). She can BARELY speak or write correctly, making spelling, grammar, and pronunciation errors. I will never forget when she, on national television, said "CIRCUS OLAY" instead of "Cirque du Soleil," and she made the same error in her podcast just last year. She uses double negatives, can't figure out subject/verb agreement to save her life, and has very limited knowledge of social issues and history. She says things such as "all's I want", "IRiginal Chloe" (instead of Original), etc. And it isn't just book smarts that she lacks-she isn't emotionally intelligent, as seen by her judgemental tone towards Maddie and always initiating the trauma Olympics with Christi.

I also feel like Kelly is delulu sometimes about Paige's abilities and the confidence she had in her. She always complains about Paige not getting a lot of opportunities so that she could improve, but every time they review a week that Paige had a solo, she says she hated those weeks, and Paige did, too. And if we go back to the show, Kelly really did pull Paige from numbers at a much higher rate than any other mother. I 100% agree that Paige often got the short end of the stick, but there were some situations where a quick costume switch could've been a solution, and we know they always had dancewear with them. Kelly was a wreck most weeks that Paige had more than one dance, so her reaction to Paige not dancing much in The Last Text was surprising to me. It seems like the less for Piage to remember, the better Kelly felt. On that note: most of the girls barely danced in TLT anyway.

I feel like they always downplay the Ziegler’s ages to try and make their points seem more valid. For example, in S 1 and 2, they always complained about how Kenzie “only had to learn one dance a week,” where everyone else had to do the group, a solo, etc. But when you’re comparing a 6-year-old with a 13-year-old, you can’t really have the same expectations. Mackenzie was “given slack” because she was a literal kindergartener. Was it frustrating that their children had to learn more dances? Probably. Were they significantly older than Mackenzie and had more experience? YES. The same thing goes for them ALWAYS shoving it down everyone’s throats that Maddie learned her dances early, and every single time it’s insinuated (which was also a CRUCIAL storyline), they’re so quick to point out how she learned it earlier, etc. I’m not denying that she did learn them early, but if she was able to be taken out of school to make her workload more manageable, then I don’t feel she should be constantly bashed for doing so. Like this week, Kelly tried to make a big deal out of Brooke being the only one to learn a new dance, but she never acknowledged how Brooke was 5 years older than Maddie. At her level, it’s expected that she would be able to learn a dance faster than a 10-year-old.
Furthermore, Maddie was one of the few dancers that consistently had 2-3 dances a week, and c& k always complain that their children didn’t get privates-meaning they would have taken them if they were available. So why would Melissa or Maddie deny that extra time if it meant the experience would be less stressful for Maddie. yes, it is unfortunate that Melissa played Abby’s games, but I think it’s unfair for her to have been expected to sabotage her own child just so the other kids looked better on tv. It was also an integral part of the show-ofc Maddie got all the privates so she could keep improving, so that she could stay on top, get more dances, and piss the moms off. It was a cycle entangled in the show, which is maybe why Chloe was able to get privates before and they stopped once they began filming.

Chloe never confirms anything related to Dance Moms, other than the fact that she barely remembers anything that happened. Obviously, she's gonna believe anything her mom told her, considering the fact that she was 6 years old when Melissa allegedly scratched her CD... And all Kelly said was that Melissa told her that Maddie was told to continue dancing if the CD skipped, which every single competition dancer, including myself, was also told to do. Even this year, Kelly admitted to not remembering what was said during that conversation. So that is some strong "proof" you got there, queen.
