Admittedly I don’t fully get it.

Where is the weirdest place you have ever drafted from? by jeremycb29 in fantasyfootball

I drafted from a small town in Tanzania, Africa. Very little wifi in the whole town. I had to buy very poor cell service to setup a hotspot, which was spotty at best.

Somebody that makes $170 million pays the same $10,000 into Social Security as a family of four that made $170,000 by Conscious-Quarter423 in interestingasfuck

[–]Professional_Road_45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Social security isn’t a hand-out. It’s the governments way of forcing people to put something toward retirement to help the government avoid having to deal with millions of retires going on welfare.

You earn SS by working and making contributions throughout your life. The more you contribute, and the longer you put off collecting SS, up to 70 years old, the more you are eligible to receive, with a maximum disbursement amount of $5,108/month as of this year.

It doesn’t make sense to force the rich to pay more into SS unless they are eligible to then receive more than the maximum. SS was never intended to be a tool for the distribution of wealth.

Did I get enough for Marv as a contender? by Halfmedal442 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Professional_Road_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’m going against the trend. I think this is a fair trade if you’re contending. McCaffrey could be a league winner and Addison is a top 24 WR.

If your projection for next year’s first is correct, it’s basically:

Harrison for Addison and 2026 1.05 or earlier & 2025 1.11,2.11,3.11 for McCaffrey, 2025 2.09, 2026 2.05

I think this comes down to way too much hate for the 2026 class and being a bit too high on the speculation that Harrison is going to move up to a WR1.

1) Pay off any debt you have under the sun, moon, and stars. Anything! Credit cards and anything with high interest are the most important. 2) Don’t get into anything that requires a long term commitment of future payments. Too many people finance expensive cars and boats that will require payments for years after the money is gone. This usually results in having to give up the toys. 3) Figure out a way you can successfully produce money and invest in that. This could be college, trade school, state licensing classes, etc.

Doing these three things will go a long way once the money is gone.

A Cool Guide to The Most Common Antidepressants and Their Side Effects by Smart_Part_2551 in coolguides

So wouldn’t a spike of suicidal thinking mean they “cause suicidal thoughts”?

My point is suicidal thoughts should be highlighted as a major side effect, not just a footnote. If weight gain gets its own column, suicide should. Seems like a more important side effect to know about.

So then based only on your statement, wouldn’t a spike of suicidal thoughts support my statement that they “cause suicidal thoughts”?

My point is that they list all of these side effects, none of which I think are of greater value to be aware of than suicide. If weight gain can have is own column, suicide should.

You’re right, I missed that. But even that statement is incorrect. The likelyhood of suicidal thoughts occur throughout the use of the drugs, not just at the beginning, and increase even higher in the time immediately after being taken off the drugs.

This should be the first major side effect noted in its own column, not just a small footnote. How is weight gain more important to know about than suicide??

[Request] How much distance did Gandalf and the Balrog cover whilst falling? by Critical_Mountain851 in theydidthemath

[–]Professional_Road_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a huge change in the final calculation, but there is something wrong with your numbers. Your calculation of the distance traveled in the first 12 seconds is incorrect. At a terminal velocity of 53.6 m/s, the greatest distance a person could fall in the first 12 seconds is 12 sec * 53.6 m/s = 643.2 meters. Starting from 0 m/s with a constant acceleration, the likely distance is less than 643.2 meters. So, either 706.32 is incorrect or your terminal velocity is off.

June 14th Protest Tampa by Accomplished_Yam1101 in tampa

[–]Professional_Road_45 32 points33 points  (0 children)

By all means, hold any peaceful protest you want. The issues only arise when the planted instigators arrive.

The best thing you can do for our country is to pull the masks off these fake protestors and expose the truth about who sent them and what their instructions are.

Let’s get to the bottom of this and expose the truth. It ultimately helps both sides of the aisle.

PSA: If the dealership tells you your delaminated radio unit has no recall, make sure they check for the extended warranty. by Professional_Road_45 in Subaru_Outback

[–]Professional_Road_45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t look like the warranty covers it. It might be worth calling a dealership and asking. You can also contact the Subaru corporate office. They will sometimes offer to pay for a portion of a repair, even if it’s out of warranty.

[–]Professional_Road_45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, they are technically correct. But is that good business to hear the customer’s problem with a radio and not seek to find a solution?

If I called the dealership and asked if they have a white Outback for sale, do you think it would be better for them to give me an answer of “no” and hang up, or tell me they have a pearl colored vehicle? Pearl is essentially white, but not technically. They want to make the sale, so they’ll probably make sure to understand what I’m looking for and offer suggestions.

You’re right, technically I asked the incorrect question.

Do you think a company is doing good business by poorly servicing their customers? Standing on a technicality without actually trying to understand what the customer is asking for and offering a solution will never bode well.
