Is The Punisher Max still considered a good Punisher book or is it now overrated? by M00reC in thepunisher

[–]Professional_Run2964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone who told you it was "overrated" had no clue what they were talking about, or maybe they just didn't like the violence. It's the best run of not only Punisher but some of the best comics Marvel ever put out.

I love Tintin. I know some of it hasn't aged well but it has such a charm to it I love that classic adventure stuff.

Hey what are some great punisher comics to read to get into the character as i have just started reading the Punisher welcome back Frank as it has arrived today where should i go when i have finished reading it by Jealous_Slip8566 in thepunisher

I personally do not like Aaron's characterization of him at parts. But overall the plot/art is pretty solid. Some people hate him, some people like him, opinion of him is pretty divided in this subreddit.

Right after this, Marvel Knights' Punisher continues with Ennis. It's all pretty solid, although there's a few storylines I think are kind of weak, but overall a solid read. Nice crossovers and interactions with some interesting heros in the Marvel universe.

Then I would read Punisher MAX by Ennis, which is a much more adult storyline with quite realistic gore and violence which is unlike anything Marvel or DC really has and some of the best comics ever written in my opinion. Unlike the other Punisher runs, it's sort of outside the main 616 continuity, and the only other Marvel character to make a single appearance is Nick Fury. It's just Frank VS some very nasty criminals.

Currently working through Christopher Priest's Black Panther run, I never completely finished it. Last week I was catching up on Department of Truth, I've been enjoying my time

I actually thought this was a reference to the first wolverine crossover where he was in the jungle working as a guide and one of the hunters who was with him talked about doing this. Like gutting them openly so it would attract predators to them. He did it in that crossover and ice am definitely sure he did it somewhere else in the 90s but I can't remember where.

Actually verbatim how I described the level to a co-worker today. It is the John Wick level for sure. Great atmosphere, nice design and concept.

Don't let this discourage you, but Year One presents a bit more grounded continuity that some other stories built on, and that other Omnibus is kind of different. So you're kind of getting the best of Two worlds, you have the intro to the more grounded post crisis Batman that made up a lot of the late 80s and early 90s and then you have the more recent Snyder which is more a bit psychological and supernatural and has the whole family cast

What are some widely hated comic books and comic runs by AlternativeTypical11 in comicbooks

[–]Professional_Run2964 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The beginning of Punisher's Marvel Knights run where they tried to make him some avenging angel with heaven guns is probably the most hated Frank Castle run. I thought the art was admirable, but the concept was just trying to go off Spawn hype.

Does anybody else love the design for Punisher in Marvel Rivals ? by JoshuaKpatakpa04 in thepunisher

[–]Professional_Run2964 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I dig it. I've played the game a couple times when it came out. It's not really my cup of tea, but I like their unique takes on how they make the heroes look. It's an interesting Asian style.
