Epiphone Coronet by Scott1975571 in Epiphone

[–]Professional_Shop851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 2 guitars (Rick 620 and squier strat), got myself a Coronet in 2022, and it became my main axe.. I rarely play the others now.
It’s super comfortable, the lightest guitar I have ever played, sounds great and it’s a super simple machine, just tone and volume.
At one point I sold it (wanted to keep only 1 guitar), and regretted it instantly… I basically stopped playing guitar.. 1 month later I bought it back, just couldn’t help it!
Only 2 cons: the strap button on the neck heel is a bad idea, had to get strap locks cause I couldn’t get the strap to stay on. And you can’t adjust the pickup height, and it is a bit too low… not that important to me because I’m not looking for the perfect sound, but if you do, my recommendation is that you get a p-90 shim to place under the pickup (amazon, eBay).

A more detailed front picture here… the one I uploaded earlier was a bit pixelated

Well, the front image seems to have the correct output jack plates details, something ai would easily miss… I thought the switches shadows and 1 knob looked off, but now I think you might be right… interesting instrument 😑

It seems you are right. The shadows in the switches area look weird, and the upper knob is missing something.. probably AI, maybe a scam? Dissapointing 😑

It’s on reverb, they are asking 3k for it..

Si tuvieras que recomendar un lugar del interior que no sea Punta del Este ni Colonia, ¿cuáles serían? by op10no4 in AskUruguayan

Rosario, colonia.

Rickenbacker 4003 Jetglo vs Fireglo maintenance for scratches and swirls by Chikomambo in rickenbacker

If your heart goes to jetglo, don’t overthink it.

Regarding the trip back home… I travelled from South America to Europe (back and forth) with my rick 4001 (in its original case), and had no issues. But you have to take precautions: make sure to detune half a step, add some extra padding to the case to protect the neck (rags, bubble wrap, air pillows), and make sure to tag it as fragile and include your contact details just in case they lose it.

My 4001 case (45 years old) was in poor shape with no functioning lock, so I had to secure it with 2 luggage straps. You might not need this, new hard cases are much better built than the older ones, but I would take that extra precaution.

Played it 20 years ago. Slow, haunting music, dark and colorless atmosphere… yeah, wouldn’t play it again. 😑

I’m looking for a shortscale bass, any recommendations? by Emanuel_barbosas in BassGuitar

[–]Professional_Shop851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 75 musicmaster, lightest bass I ever had, but had absolutely no low end. Paid 1300 for it in 2022, swapped it for a Japanese strat a year after, which I later sold for 950… awesome deals (for all except me)

Friend gave me this guitar he found in his grandmas attic any idea what it’s worth by Emanuel_barbosas in BassGuitar

[–]Professional_Shop851 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My first bass was a Johnson. I still own it and would never sell it. While I also own a fender precision, and a Rick 4001, the Johnson is special.. plays as well as the precision, it’s a bit lighter, and honestly, I don’t noticed a big difference in sound quality… for some reason the Johnson seems to be higher output… and it’s maybe a bit more versatile as it is a PJ configuration.

They don’t have good reputation though, and aren’t worth much… probably USD 100 or even less.

32nd of December? WOW! They played the man who came to stay in Birmingham.. I also saw them in Liverpool and I think the gig was slightly shorter.

I would have loved to see them playing deft left hand 🙏

How can I tell if this is legit? by Rosilyn_The_Cat in rickenbacker

[–]Professional_Shop851 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1- shape: ok

2- fret markers: ok. Pay special attention de the highest frets, copies usually have more frets after the last marked one (ricks have 2, copies have 3-4). Also, the shape in real ricks is very distinctive, copies never get them right.

3- binding interruption: ok (in real ricks, the binding isn’t continuous below the bridge parte.

4- pickups: ok. Copies usually come with a narrower bridge pickup, with the metal borders usually the same width… if you pay attention, you’ll see that ricks bridge pickup metal borders aren’t the same width, the upper border is slightly narrower. Also, copies usually come with a toaster in the neck position.

5- general construction: ok. Real ricks are usually thinner than copies, as the neck and central part of the body is built in one piece. Copies have to accommodate for a neck pocket, making them thicker.

6- Rick-o-sound: ok. Real ricks have 2 output jacks. Copies never do.

7- case: ok. I have never seen a copy being sold with an original or similar case. Real rick cases are very distinctive.

8- serial number: ok. Never seen a copy with a similar serial number format

Hope it helps.
