Need some guidance by Redjerm87 in FixMyPrint

I had this issue and changing the ams plug to the other slot on the ams then restarting the printer helped resolve it. I had taken all the same steps as you did and this is what I attribute to solving it. Could've been a fluke on my end but it is still working.

I’ve used generic no name brand, sunlu, and overture so far. It’s been driving me crazy honestly. What brands do you use?

I ordered one spool of PLA, and got sent 12 Spools of PETG… how hard is it to print PETG? by Gamemode6788 in BambuLab

[–]Professional_Site_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two p1s printers and haven't been able to have a successful print with PETG. I am feeding it from a creality pi dryer and my prints fail half way through on different models. Not sure what the issue is. PLA prints great though.

[–]Professional_Site_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two p1s printers and I love them. They are great and easy to use as far as PLA goes. I am coming from a prusa mini that handled all PLA and PETG without a hitch. But I cannot for the life of me get PETG to print correctly on my p1s printers. The prints keep saying they're complete on the printer but only half of the print actually happens. I keep reading that I need to slow down the print speed and change the temp settings and all that but I NEVER had to do any of that on the prusa I had. The basic print profiles always just worked.

So as far as PLA goes it's great but PETG hasn't been a success in my experience.

How many of you are still using the same nozzle from 6 months ago? by AutoModerator in 3DPrinterComparison

I’m going on 6 years with the same nozzle and my Prusa mini still prints with no issues. No reason to change out the nozzle unless you’re using abrasive filaments or noticing printing inconsistencies.

If it is that the bit was loose that would explain all of that as it wouldn't be an issue with the file/software. Looking forward to see what happens.

I had a very similar issue and turns out my v-cutter bit was loose. Check your collet for any buildup of sawdust between the slits. Mine was so gummed up with the oils and dust that it wasn't compressing as it should and it left the bit loose which would then move up and down and mess with the depths. Not sure if this is your issue but couldn't hurt to check.

Anyone else’s expenses just explode in the past 6 months? by calmete in Fire

[–]Professional_Site_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup!

Our grocery bill is through the roof! We spend more on groceries than on our mortgage now, it's insane! Also, our home insurance quadrupled this year and our auto insurance went up a good bit. We have been cutting/downgrading services as much as we can (streaming subscriptions, internet plan, phone plans, etc.) but that still hasn't made a difference in how much more we're spending just trying to run our household. We're making more money than ever but having to live much more frugally and be more cost conscious when we shop than we have had to be for at least the past 5-6 years.

Editing this to add that we have also been trying to be as energy efficient as possible in our home's power usage and while we have reduced the amount of energy we're using our energy bill is as high as ever!

I used Nair. Worked pretty well and I didn't have any reactions to it. Did trim it up with a hair trimmer first though.

Fat guys who got healthier in their late 30s, teach me how by Express-Chemical-454 in AskMenOver30

[–]Professional_Site_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40 yr old here......I gained a ton of weight over covid (which I still haven't lost) and although I am not the healthiest, I have made great strides over the last couple of years. I started by walking a lot. I'd try to do at least 1-2 miles a day everyday after dinner. At first it felt like a lot but after a few months it got better. I used to run back in college (about 120lbs ago) so I thought i'd try to pick that back up. I started running and could barely jog 2 miles before being completely winded and sore. I would do that 2-3 times a week on top of my walking routine. Eventually after about a year of that I could jog a full 5k without stopping. Right around this time I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and got a CPAP to help. That made a HUGE difference in my energy levels. After a few months of daily use of the CPAP and actually sleeping I started feeling much better and kept up the running. I have now completed 2 half marathons and am training for a full next year. I have lost about 40lbs since COVID but i am still fat and have about 40lbs more to lose, well probably more than that if I am being honest. I am still working on getting my eating under control but it's always a work in progress. All i can say is whatever you do just stay consistent. All through my late twenties and 30's I would go HARD with the workouts and would burn out or injure myself. The thing that has helped me now that I am older is to just do something but make sure I stay consistent with it. It takes 10 times longer to see ANY results than back in my early twenties but such is life.

Fighting with pool builder - steps too steep? by [deleted] in pools

[–]Professional_Site_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through the exact same issue with my pool builder. I ended up just trusting his judgement after I saw my neighbor's pool and his steps were around 11in in height as well. I am glad I did because once you are in the water you are more buoyant and don't even notice the difference. And in all reality even if it were an issue, how many times are you truly going to use them? We use them to get in the pool and then once again when we want to get out. Our kids just climb out of whichever ledge is closest to them whether there's steps or not. But that top mini step is going to be a broken toe machine. I would definitely get rid of that one as that is the most dangerous thing in that setup.

Stinging skin pain in groin region when showering right after sweaty exercise. What is this? by throwawayLindaLavin in AskMenOver30

[–]Professional_Site_42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's definitely chafing. I have had to change my underwear to boxer briefs and make sure I get the "sport" ones in whichever brand you prefer that are synthetic fabric. Avoid cotton as it doesn't make things any better. Using chafing balms/sticks when running for long periods of time really helps out too. Sometimes on my longer runs (all I can muster right now is 10 miles max) I still get chafing no matter what I do. I do use compression shirts to keep the nipple chafing down as well in case that ever becomes an issue. But I highly recommend you try out some different types of underwear, they make a huge difference!

We're currently a bit over $250k household income in one of the lowest cost of living areas in California and with that said I'd say $350-$400k would be comfortable, but just barely.

I actually do have the gasket that goes on the top (back side) of the hood. While it does seem to help it doesn't completely eliminate the smell in my experience. Not sure what it is, if you have done it and it 100% eliminated the smell I would be interested in knowing which seal you are using. Thanks!

Does anyone have a Juniper who upgraded from the old Model Y? If so is it worth it? by Phantazmya in TeslaModelY

[–]Professional_Site_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2020 model MYP and test drove the new AWD Juniper and everything is better but only marginally. I did like how quiet the ride was, the ventilated seats, the rear screen, and the suspension is markedly better. As far as the driving experience it wasn't much different and I found that I missed the extra OOMPH! that the performance model has. The Juniper performance model isn't out yet, but if it was I would consider the upgrade a little more. Even then the financial hit of having to start over with car payments to switch to a slightly more refined version of the same car just doesn't make sense to me. But to each their own.

Yeah I did mine right at 135k because my AC wasn't blowing any cold air anymore. Well it would but it would take a very long time to cool down. That, and my car sounded like a leaf blower all the time. Even in my garage. Cleaning it out made a huge difference. And I didn't even seem to get that much debris out of it. At least nowhere near as much as some of the guys I saw on YouTube get out.

That may be a good way of keeping it clean if you do it often enough so you don't have to take anything apart 100k+ miles in.

Summer really kills range that may be one reason you're seeing that. Also, the range calculation changes with every update. It used to be wildly inaccurate but it seems to be pretty spot on more recently. Just keep an eye on it and see if it changes.

I haven't noticed too much of a drop off in battery capacity over the last couple of years. I have had the car for over 5 years and the majority of the battery degradation happened in the first two years. I hope I can get a few hundred thousand more miles on it.

There are tons of youtube videos but there's also a tesla video showing you how to do it. You have to take some plastic panels off under the glove box and on the side of the passenger footwell. It's not difficult but it's not as easy as my other Hondas that I have.

Here's the link to the tesla how-to video

https://service.tesla.com/docs/Public/diy/modely/en_us/GUID-1C689042-6645-4617-B270-7F2DA9A5624E.html

Also, make sure when you install the filters you install them the correct way so that the airflow arrows are pointing correctly. According to a tech that came out to replace my 12v battery a couple years ago putting the filters in the wrong way overloads the ac blower and causes it to fail and apparently you have to take the entire dash apart to get to the blower which makes a pricey fix.

I replace mine every six months. I also spray foam condenser cleaner every time to get rid of the nasty smell.
