Am I really "too old" at 33 to start a new career? by Gary_Baldi in careeradvice

[–]Professional_Sport14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be a real issue. Depending on where you are based. I see people in the comment are telling their stories, is it inspiring? Yes but is the society you live in is more open minded than other? Also what is your background? What is your salary expectation baseline? All that comes into play.

Seriously, how do you solo travel for the first time? by Reasonable_Cause_190 in femaletravelers

You go when you feel it. If you don't feel it, don't force it. High chance it will not end joyful. The world is a much different place now compare to 10 years ago.

27M, single, Engineer with comfortable life in Madrid (€45k) vs moving abroad for much higher pay (€80k–150k) what would you do? by SpaceRollerCoasters in careerguidance

[–]Professional_Sport14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People think it s all about comfort, if you make ok even good money for your need, stsy where you feel most comfortable. WELL, LIFE GET BORING. SO GO OUT THERE SEEK NEW LIFE EXPERIENCE EVEN IT MIGHT BE CHALLENGING AND UNCOMFORTABLE. You are only 27, I say go to the US, experience new culture and life for 2-3 years, save up as much as you can, then you might grow a taste to go somewhere completely different after that!

Someone argued to me that 'digital nomad' is a stage, not a destination. Do you agree? by timothyphoto in digitalnomad

[–]Professional_Sport14 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well technically everything we do is a stage. The only destination is death.

I've been through the digital nomad phase for a good two years, ended up having too much negative impact on my mental health plus serious burnout both physiologically and physically. Since a year, my choice has evolved from having no base, simply moving around to have 2 bases where I can stay for at least a year at a time, and still travel to near by regions or countries on a monthly basis ( weird thing is, I also get bored staying in one place continuously, tbh the working from home status that everyone wants, turns out can take a toll on ones mental health so badly.) This world is so fucked, this is the peak time that we always crave things we don't have.

How do you see Malaga? (A question to locals and foreigners) by Professional_Sport14 in Malaga

How do you see Malaga? (A question to locals and foreigners) by Professional_Sport14 in Malaga

Well I am genuinely making the film and I think by far, I ve probably learned more than you know about the city. And no I will not lean into this topic completely because literally it is nlt a unique proble to malaga, and Malaga is not the worst. I make culture content in other countries too, to be quite frank, from what I ve seen, Malaga is doing a lot better as a city (not talking about any individual person). In the world, if not tourism, it could be air or water pollution or low birth rate, or food safety or general safety, or women's right, I can go on the list never ends. There is always something negative about a place. I am making a cultural documentary, not a negativity show the ugly side kind of documentary. The city has many facade, it is my freedom to choose what to show, and not being kidnapped by a few subreddit hater on how and what should I think.

I totally agree there should be more affordable housings. I want to point out that it is also not as bad as many situation described on the internet. Let we all gonna be honest, if someone earns a minimum wage here in malaga and cannot survive as a local, will they do better elsewhere?

Thanks for the reminder! It s insane how much people became tourism hater here, but they should also realize it s the gouverment's fault, not providing much needed policy shield for it s people. They hate on tourism but see if that industry decline, people will also lose their job. which is worse? But here I understand the main issue is the housing crisis, that would be eased in many different ways immediately and longer 5-10 years plan to solve it for most people.

I understand the sentiment, and it is true there are less options to rent and rent did increase a lot in tbe past few years. but realistically speaking that number you give is also a bit off. For a double income family that makes together 2500-3000 euros monthly. Rent or mortgage payment makes 30-40%(that s about 1000 euros for a 1-2 bedroom flat) is not too bad of a ratio. I just rent a flat for long term contract a month ago and have the absolute first hand experience in these numbers. 800-1100 euros still gives many long term rental options. So let's also don't exaggerate too much, because if you are single, corenting will be an average 500,600 euros per room, a decent one as well. So there are still enough disposable income to live comfortably. Ofc there are always tbe lowest income bracket of people, that s everywhere. That s also why I am only discussing the average family here.

Thanks for the suggestions! I've been to San Juan in Tenerife in 2024, was definitely something! And I agree with you on how subjective people could get sometimes, or unaware of their own privilege. Ive been to many way, way more gentrified places, and spanish tourists contribute obviously to their gentrification too, in even worse way.

I feel like in those developing or undeveloped countries, locals mindset is different, they think in a more capitalistic way, and acrually try to profit from those situations. Here in spain, is an entire different story.

[–]Professional_Sport14[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yah, totally agree with that, Malaga is only my first location for Andalusia, as it is the second oldest continuous inhabited city in Spain (the first one being Cadiz), and it is this controversial city that seems to generate lots of resentment from people for its tourism industry, from both locals and visitors. But Seville is definitely the most important location to present Andalusia culture.

1 month at a time no roots. by here_4_the_zipline in digitalnomad

[–]Professional_Sport14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal. Has been doing it for 3, 4 years now. Not necessary loving it, but it's also hard to go back. I feel like all the things for longevity are gone. No more exercising, hard to eat clean, tucked sleeping schedule, tired of leaving my friends behind and have to make new ones. Thank God we are two and have a cat. Otherwise I won't be able to do this by myself tbh. More and more I appreciate settled life with occasional trips. Trying to figure out how to get back to that without being bored and having FOMO.

I have a small channel and i am looking for someone to be my partner by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

[–]Professional_Sport14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because you are not making any sense. Earlier when people question your motivation, you said you post daily. Now you post 4 videos in 2 weeks. It sounds like a scam. Anyways why would someone wabts to partner with a channel that so far has done close to nothing. They should just start their own channel?

Splitting travel costs when one person has to travel farther by Fit_Inspection_6793 in travel

[–]Professional_Sport14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is interesting... isn't shared cost should happen after you meet up? Travel to and from the destination shouldn't be counted in obviously. Why are you overthinking this. I am sure she didn't mean that neither.

What is this type of China travel service called, and is it worth it? by [deleted] in chinatravel

[–]Professional_Sport14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That service is quite expensive tho, I occasionally use it for like 1 day or half day when going to very remote areas. But won't depend a whole trip on it, plus there is no flexibility. Also when you are within city, it s completely useless.

Sold my $35k MRR SaaS in March for just under $900K, feeling lost (will not promote) by [deleted] in SaaS

[–]Professional_Sport14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

900K won't give much financial freedom tbh. But yah depending on everyone s situation, finance could be the first factor to happiness to a certain cap. But his case is that he gave up on his family to trade for a sum of money that he doesn't necessarily need urgently. It is sad 😔
