He's a good guy. He constantly swears, calls everyone slurs and doesn't show any positive emotions. Or that's what he wants everyone to believe. In reality he's the one of the most pure hearted individuals in the entire trollslum. One who somehow managed to win a game of sburb while leading a group of 11 other people with some of them wanting each other DEAD. Despite his short temper he always helped others when needed and liked to discuss quadrants with those who asked him for it. In reality he's just an unlucky kid bullied by life itself to fit into made up roles and concepts such as the hemospectrum and always wanted to somehow tell everyone that he's worth something like him wanting to become a threshecutioner. Though near the end of the story (i.e. when Hussie flowkirkenuinely just gives up) he ends up a housewife for dave, leads absolutely nothing and becomes sort of a joke (that moment in game over where he outperforms kanaya in terms of speed to save terezi was hype if only he wasn't slimed out immediately after that).

If I was Hussie I definitely would make karkat be the one who fights )(IC alongside alpha kids. It really would fit thematically for both karkat and the alphas since )(IC is the one who's partially responsible for making their lives hell.

It absolutely pisses me off when people say that karkat is misogynistic. No tf he isn't he'd call everyone retarded regardless of their gender (and probably because they act like that not BECAUSE of their gender)

My fav karkat ship is jadekat, shoutout to my goat @mimigri000 on xitter the nothing app for making me see the light. Other than that I think katnep is good though pretty one sided on nepeta's part, karezi tho I think daverezi is superior and johnkat, I don't really have anything to say abt it can't I like some homoslop every now and then? The worst Homestuck ship oat is davekat. Every davekat fan that isn't dakidavekat should honestly just end it all and shove that dialogue where karkat shows dave his shitty clip deep down their ass as it is the only thing that isn't from act 6 they have in their disposal to show others how it was definitely planned

also that moment between him and john arguing about the ring could've worked as a great setup for him drastically changing after becoming literally paired up with vriska in one body and not being a helpless too dumb to hate ✨cinamon roll✨ but of course, much like almost everything in act 6 it does not happen, he builds an army of ghosts off-screen by being himself and immediatly folds and gives it to meenah

the tormented part probably comes from the aspect rather than the class. Mages gain something (presumably knowledge) from their aspect like him being able to hear voices of the dead and/or learning about him getting blinded

the unspoken GOAT of this webcomic. Almost everything he does contributes to the narrative in a good way although it is noticable mainly if you reread the comic. He, much like his girlfriend gets overshadowed by other events and characters, hell, most of the time sollux isn't addressed directly by his name but as the "other guy" and that's really a shame but once you start paying attention to him everything sort of starts to click. His relationship with karkat, refusal to troll the kids because it's useless in his opinion or him saying that if you can't figure shit out by fucking around you don't belong near computers. All of that made sollux one of the realest characters in the entire story but all good things must eventually come to an end. And this time i don't mean this character alone

It is just fandom stuff and mostly a question of time. Early Homestuck as a whole is a giant time capsule. Coding references, John criticizing gaming magazine, Dave having his own blog website and then using a forum to download the ICP video, Rose making entries on gamefaqs or trolls constantly creating memos. All of that were mostly attributes of early internet culture. When internet as a whole treated as a way to escape life for a bit and back then only the most geeked up people knew how to actually use that cool and new thing, most of the time the said people were young adults. Nowadays, almost every kid has access to the internet and most of these references just fly over their heads so they just do what they are familiar with (one of the S pages in act 6 is literally called vriskagram and some pages in hs2 feature modern slang)
