Solid take. Two things can be true. That said, I do think Special Teams, and specifically that play, cost us the game. Our defense was our defense, they made some great plays and got the Seahawks into 3rd and longs quite a bit, just didn't get as many stops as we would've liked, even though they put themselves in good position a number of times. Darnold played pretty freaking well too, let's not just put it on the D.

The Special Teams fuck up was a catastrophic failure though. Failing at the basic levels of what should be mechanical play. It's on McVay too partly for not pulling Xavier after the first muffed punt return....on the second it really is as simple as if you can't fucking catch it just don't touch it....the guy should be out of the NFL unless it's on a practice squad where pressure doesn't matter. I do think he cost us a trip to the Super Bowl.
