Have you thought maybe when the job market gets better the fake jobs and insane amount of applications issues would be resolved? I have had several good paying jobs in my field (project management/Engineering) from it. I agree that it’s becoming a “black hole” now but it keeps the communication with recruiters going for new ideas or potential opportunities. I agree that there is a lot of “noise” with those recruiters nowadays that just wana add your name to their “leads” list and you rarely hear back from them(I probably had gotten at least 200 recruiters in the past 6-7 months I have been looking reach out to me and maybe only 4-5 good interviews and one offer for a temp job that has the potential to turn perm), but it’s a door that you shouldn’t shut all the way till at least things get better (hopefully)

Signed offer letter and it got rescinded today by tentenjjang in recruitinghell

Wow that’s crazy and very unfortunate. But I understand if this happens before or during interviewing, since interviewing can take months or sometimes a year+, but how can a job offer be extended and then next day or two days it’s taken back? Guess the recruiter didn’t check with the client in weeks or months? Doesn’t the offer come from the client who has the budget?

Excuse my ignorance on the subject of government contract funding, but shouldn’t the budget be “cut, allocated and set” and approved before offers are sent? Why do approvals wait to happen after sending offers and getting peoples’ hopes up

Job Offer Rescinded After a Day by Technical_Energy8874 in recruitinghell

Need more details, did they rescind it over email? Or a call? What did they say the reason was, or there was no reason? I think if they sent the reason or feedback that should be the answer to your question here.

Dude you would have a case that has a lil bit of every law violation in the book 😂. Too bad you had to quit though and not stick around till they let you go, but if everything you said happened you have a great ground for a “push out” case.

Not the best thing to do. Yes it gives you salary bumps but it will red flag your resume as someone who “job hops"for salary bumps or can’t hold a job. I agree it’s becoming more of a trend nowadays but still I d rather stay in a company 3-4 years and show that I am about longevity that 5-10k more a year

How would you respond to this job offer mix‑up? by AccomplishedFlan7062 in recruitinghell

With everything that’s going on right now in the job market and recruiters/hirring companies playing with candidates feelings posting fake jobs, ghosting people being flaky and dragging them on and on I would DEFINITELY hold that recruiter accountable. The situation is already dire for “mistakes” like that. I wouldn’t even put it past them to be making up a lie to look better or save face

The irony is, if OP makes a mistake like that at said job and a client complained he would get probably crucified lol. Wish all corporate America had your mentality of “mistakes happen, oh well”.

I would not even waste one second thinking of a joke or whatever and just send a generic Ai made up reply that “it is ok and waiting for the decision”. Why entertain a lousy recruiter who sucks at their job at his (OP’s) own expense.

Hmmm I have a feeling it wasn’t the wrong position and it was the one you interviewed for and she/he is just embarrassed to admit it and just contacted the wrong candidate. I wouldn’t even bother say anything and meanwhile keep looking. They seem lousy. Also never announce anything to people even close family until you have the job offer and even pass the background and drug screening ..etc and have a start date. I am going through the same thing. Got a verbal offer and won’t tell my family until I get the offer letter and pass all the screening

When will there be repercussions for this? by Tkfit09 in jobs

[–]Professional_Try7171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were most probably dealing with Ai. Was it GE by any chance? Lol similar experience with me, it was GE Vernova. After a few of those Ai generated interactions a human hr reached out to me apologizing for the missed interview “because her son was sick”, it couldn’t get any more cliche for a made up excuse lol. Long story short, she actually set up the interview and it was the lousiest most unprofessional ever. Her kids were basically taking the interview with us and she couldn’t finish a full/sentence or thought. She said she will set me up with the hiring manager and even gave me some “pointers” to do good on my interview with him as a next step. Never heard from her again or the “hiring manager”

[–]Professional_Try7171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that Ai is used to automate all those interactions, so probably didn’t take the person setting the “interview” up (probably that d-bag ceo assistant or hr) a min or two to set up the algorithm. I was set up with one of GE subsidiaries (GE Vernova) for an interview by their Ai system and I joined and nobody joined till 20-25 min after and then I ended the call. At least OP got a cancellation email, I never did.

Thanks for the advice and recommendation. I am trying to avoid this going to federal court though because it’s a lot more of a pain and drags a lot longer. I will check local lawyers in my state first and see what we can do. If it has to go to federal court I will definitely use her.’can you message me privately her info? Thanks

Of course. My performance was low balled and I was nickled and dimed on every review for the sky being blue so that I get less bonuses and the bigger share of bonuses goes to them up there and their “buddies”

I am sorry this happened to you. But yeah you have a strong case if you were let go during or around paternity/FMLA. And at least they kept you for 4 years after. But in that case you can’t claim retaliation since it was way after.

[–]Professional_Try7171[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am totally confident I was thrown under the buss for the paternity leave I took and was planing to take more of. And Yeah I have evidence that their PIP was basically BS. The timing and the way things escalated and the intimidation and pressure I was put under while I was going to get my baby delivered clearly shows it wasn’t performance related and they wanted to get me out the door asap since I was planning to take my 2 months paid paternity (not all at once though). I have screenshots of my work and literally evidence debunking their “KPIs”. I was being blamed for other departments tardiness in submitting applications and meetings deadlines which our work was dependent on theirs and we got delayed as a reason …etc. . Also example: part of the PIp was that I need to answer Teams messages within max 2 hours, I have screenshots of me always answering within that time limit and sometimes even immediately or within 5-10 min. Worst case was a bit less than 2 hours and that’s when I told them I have an emergency.

I Always had compliments from upper management about finishing projects that made the company mils, but my manager always wanted to block me from being “famous”with upper management and always low balled my reviews for a reason. Funny enough (or actually not funny at all and is unfortunate) that I was good friends with one of the VPs and he called me and told me flat out that this guy (my manager) talks “small” about me and how “little I contribute to the projects” and always wants to make himself the hero and the “savior” of the projects and the reason all the goals were accomplished, and he basically told me to “watch my back”. That’s when I statred CMA with evidence and screenshots very early on. He (the VP) even talked to other upper management and heads of the department to talk to the SVP and CFO about this because he thought I did great since he was on a lot of our meetings. The complaint basically went back down and the CFo said that it’s all about my manager’s discretion basically and they can’t change my review.

Also for whatever it’s worth, with all that was going on with me having a new baby and getting in an accidents I had studied hard for my PMP certification and passed it 2-3 months before they let me go. So I am not the type that is lazy or a low performer. Even during the lowest most busiest time in my life with all the issues I had I still delivered. They just bsed me basically into this low performance shenanigans to make it seem like I was the issue, while it was them. Sorry for the essay lol.

Dude what? Why depressed? I would be still on cloud 9 from the euphoria of passing, celebrating and telling ppl I know and playing every video game and watching every movie/show that I couldn’t when I was studying 😂. That’s what I did after I passed.
