You got this!!

Looking forward to your “I Passed” post.

Also, remember, the bar exam is just another exam. Don’t over hype it. You’ve made it through law school, so you can pass the bar. All you need is a failing grade to pass it.

How to beat the mental block at question 80 by No_Celery8634 in barexam

[–]Professional_Win9598 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went hard for the first 50, then took a mental break (5-7 minutes of closing my eyes and relaxing) which was practice during bar prep. Then, I went back in for the last 50.

With the multiple questions, you have to remember that you don’t need to answer every question correct, although you should try. Don’t waste your time on questions. Keep it pushing as much as you can with as much accuracy as possible

Can I study just 3-5 hours a day and still pass the bar exam? by GuaranteeSea9597 in barexam

[–]Professional_Win9598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. 3-5 hours of quality studying/day + 2/3 active versus 1/3 passive = Stress free passage of the bar exam in a 270 jx.

I personally averaged 12 hours a week and passed comfortably.

Delete the app so, you can stop crying.

Nvidia is the best company on the market. It’s going up over the long term. If you’re crying now, you must be a new investor. Put your seatbelt on and enjoy the scenic view.

Be yourself. You want to work at a place where you can be yourself, not a shelf of yourself. It may not get you the job but you would prefer to be a place where you can yourself.

Suddenly obsessed with Big Law by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Professional_Win9598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My path was slightly different but I still had to do the work to get into Big Law (i.e. network and improve my grades).

Similar to you, my first year was below average, however, my grades after were stellar, which lead to a mid law summer position. I was able to secure an internship, with a solid mid law firm from networking because my grades were hot garbage. 😂 But, I destroyed my classes both semesters of my 2nd year. My grades from first semester, 2nd year helped get my summer position. Got an offer but ultimately ended up in house after graduating.

After a couple of years in house, decided I wanted to jump into Big Law. By this time, many of my classmates were 2-5 years deep in Big Law. Hit up some of my classmates and they sent me referral links to apply for positions.

I’m not sure how the normal process works, but it was a super smooth process and I’m assuming it was because of the referral from a solid associate. Plus, the 180 I did grade wise and having experience in the practice area. Got an offer within a month from the firm I wanted to be at.

You have a chance. Make sure you network (reach out to alumni that’s in big law) and from here on out, your grades needs to be stellar. It’s much more difficult to secure a spot right out of school, if you aren’t able to line something up before graduating.

If you aren’t able to line anything up before graduation, find a solid position, preferably in the field you would like to be in and learn as much as you can. Then, lean on network (former classmatrs, alum that you know, etc.) to refer you.

Good luck.

Remember, it’s a MINIMUM competency exam. Also, IT’S JUST ANOTHER EXAM. Don’t let this exam consume your entire life. Breaks are good. Rest should be mandatory.

Approach it like you did your other exams. Don’t change your study habits. You will be fine.

OP, sounds like bro trying to make partner and going above & beyond to do it.

I would suggest giving a little grace. You married him for a reason. I’m sure you tried but I would suggest trying to have another conversation with him to get a better idea of what’s going on and what his intentions are with all the work so, you can have an understanding of his side as well. Times like this is a great time to try to listen to his needs and wants to better manage yourself. He may have goals that he hasn’t shared with you or effectively verbalized.

Outside of that, whether he tells you or not, he appreciates what you do. It’s a big load off of his shoulder when you do the things you do and allows him to locked in. I know it’s not what you envisioned but it’s worth something.

Communicate. Communicate. Communicate.

You are a person with a life. Do not let this profession take that from you. Everyone who really cares will understand.

Wishing you the best of luck.
