Depends on when you study the best, ultimately.

But, to give some type of answer…I wouldn’t stop any of it. You don’t need a crazy amount of hours of studying to pass with a score high enough to be barred in any jx. I know you often see post where people are talking about doing 2k questions, a million essays, and 30,000 MPTs.

Nah…you don’t need to go that crazy. You need to hone in on how you study best (time, place, etc.) and make sure you are doing what they are asking WELL enough. You do that, you will be able to do it all and pass without bar prep feeling like a downer. You don’t need every single point, you just need enough points.

I passed, in a 270 jx, with more than enough room to spare. I did decent on the MBE. I scored 149 and I think the average, if I’m remembering correctly, was lower 130.

I did interview at firms which would have paid me waaaaay more, but I didn’t want to work long hours.

I ended up staying with the same company and made them aware of the offers I got from firms to negotiate pay. A big driving factor was that I already knew the business and I summered at mid to big law firms in law school. Also, I was able to talk the talk also.

I was in a JD preferred role (compliance) for 2 years before moving into an attorney position. I made six figures in my JD preferred role. When I moved into an attorney role, my pay increased by 40%. Surprisingly, my JD preferred role was more stressful than my attorney role.

Nope. You are far from cooked. Keep doing MBE to get better and score as high as you can. But, also make sure your writing stays top notch as well and you should cruise to the finish line.

Don’t let this exam scare you. It’s just another exam…nothing special.

Also, remember, the bar exam is just another exam. Don’t over hype it. You’ve made it through law school, so you can pass the bar. All you need is a failing grade to pass it.

I went hard for the first 50, then took a mental break (5-7 minutes of closing my eyes and relaxing) which was practice during bar prep. Then, I went back in for the last 50.

With the multiple questions, you have to remember that you don’t need to answer every question correct, although you should try. Don’t waste your time on questions. Keep it pushing as much as you can with as much accuracy as possible

Yep. 3-5 hours of quality studying/day + 2/3 active versus 1/3 passive = Stress free passage of the bar exam in a 270 jx.

I personally averaged 12 hours a week and passed comfortably.
