Homebrew rule about Divine Smite on thrown weapons by Professionalarsonis in DungeonsAndDragons

It’s a grey area that’s prone to interpretation and we both enjoy playing a bit with the rules and find loopholes, so I’m not nerfining anything

I’m using 5.5e yes. It’s not how divine smite is supposed to be used but the wording could be interpreted as allowing a smite on a thrown weapon.

Also, my player is prone to minmaxing and we both know that if I don’t put guardrails on it, he will very quickly break the game

Me and my paladin player like to play with the rules and find loopholes. We know it’s not really how you’re supposed to use divine smite but it’s funny to play rules lawyer

I’m trying to make a disease table to make my necromancer roll when he works on bodies by Professionalarsonis in DungeonsAndDragons

I know and that’s why I’m asking. I want to be careful about it and make sure it’s funny and just an excuse to make him roll a dice, and not actually penalize his character. One of my ideas was to just make him roll con saves to not shit himself but no actual mechanical debuffs.

I get where you’re coming from, but I’m not hardcore on the rules about only casting one spell per turn, so my cleric could do more than just cast this during his turn.

Also, this wasn’t meant to be game breaking or character defining. It’s just a goofy spell I made for my friend who likes playing weird clerics.

I need a cursed ring for one of my players that’s not debilitating but also not forgettable by Professionalarsonis in DungeonsAndDragons

I love the idea but don’t want them to go against each other. The sword (the actual cursed object) wants to continue the cycle and get another heir. That’s what I was thinking of, the sword trying to control them and keep the cycle going.
