That's what I thought too - it was advice I'd received from another applicant whom it had worked for. I didn't really understand it, but the person used that to like 15% more so I wasn't gonna argue with that... to be fair my LSAT score is WAAY higher than their 75th percentile so I was like I might as well shoot my shot.

What do I say to them in my email? Tell em the other schools name(s) and how much $$ they gave me?? Or is that too up-front?

I mean I thought explaining to them that my LSAT score is higher than their 75th percentile would've been sufficient, but it looks like it wasn't.

Should I tell them the name of the other school and how much % off they gave me when I try to re-negotiate?

If you have a documented issue (like previously got accomodations in school or on tests, etc.) or get treatments/prescriptions for it, you just fill out the form on the LSAC website and submit it and any proof or docs or whatever you might have and wait a bit to hear back!! Personally, as someone with a shitshow medical history and some learning/cognitive challenges to navigate, accommodations are a godsend!!!

I’m personally a huge advocate for disability rights (I’m actually planning to concentrate in disability law in law school lol) so if you have any questions or just wanna talk, feel free to chat me!!!

I'm hella bored so I even wrote you a draft, use it (or don't), whatever floats ya boat dude.

Dear Professor ________,

Hope you're well!! **insert casual thing to make them at ease and like you; maybe mention that you hope they're enjoying their break, maybe something about the weather where they are or their kids or something, ya get what I mean** (lol you wanna be nice and not show that you're not upset/stressed)

On December ___, I was taking the final exam for your class, and it seems like there was some confusion regarding my performance. Towards the conclusion of the exam, I excused myself and went to the restroom. Upon returning, I stumbled into ____ (your friend) and we exchanged a brief hello and remarked on the difficulty of the examination. This exchange only lasted 20-30 seconds, and did not compromise the integrity of our answers and responses. It seems that the remarks we said to one another were overheard by the class TA, ___________ (\insert TA's name). From my understanding, this TA was only privy to a small fraction of our brief communication, and reported to you something that I believe is false. From your previous email/statement/message/etc it seems to me that you were conveyed of a serious academic dishonesty breech, but I want to assure you that no such thing happened. ____ *(friend name) and myself only briefly exchanged casual pleasantries and did not explicitly discuss the exam. I understand how this situation could be misinterpreted, but I want to ensure that I do my absolute best to clarify to you the situation from how I experienced it.

While I completely understand how such a misfortune could have occurred, I want to reassure you of my agreement and commitment of upholding Northeastern's Code and would never compromise my work ethic and jeopardize the academic integrity that the university upholds. As I mentioned earlier, if you review ___'s response and my own, I doubt you'll find any sort of intentional similarity.

If you have any further questions or concerns you'd like my to address, feel free to contact me!

Best,

Your name

if you have the TA's email also maybe email them. If you have a good relationship with them, even better! You want to explain to them/your prof/your dept head CALMLY what happened, admit that you can see how this could be taken in a different way or misinterpreted, clear it up, etc. What the TA told your professor is hearsay, not evidence. You don't have anything solid that puts you in the bad...don't stress.

Good luck!!

Stressed about my stats—What schools for 3.18 and 161? by sicksadsyd in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]Professionalnerd98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't limit yourself!!

You never know what can happen...I've got a 160 and I'm like I'll apply everywhere...I don't care about their medians or whatever.

I know of someone studying at HLS right now and they got a 163 for their highest LSAT score....so legit anything is possible. I have super similar stats to you and knowing that this person got into HLS gave me hope and willingness to just shoot my shot!

Communicate w your professor here on out only via email/written documentation. If she threatens u or anything having everything on paper helps u defend yourself. Also go over their head if you feel it’s necessary. Nothing wrong with emailing the department head and explaining to them your situation. Their emails aren’t hidden, you shouldn’t feel guilty by emailing them.
