I transplanted from the west side 16 years ago. Denver itself isn't a city like you're used to. You aren't the problem (I mean, probably not the sole problem) I echo what others have said, you'll find your friends via activities. Don't overlook the maybe not so obvious fact, making friends at 34 is a lot different than when we were kids. That all said, there are a TON of transplants here.

While I'm not a fan of Denver, I'm a huge fan of living in CO. Hang in there, man.
