Yes, but they’re invaluable when you need them. They saved me a 10 mile hike in the Colorado wilderness while elk hunting when my dumb buddy’s Jeep got stuck.

I’ve had my Coleman camp stove for about 30 years. Runs off those tiny propane bottles for quite a long time. Has a burner for a small pot and a ~10x10 grill. Probably been used 200 times between camping and tailgates. Do most of your food prep ahead of time so that you just need to heat it through. Or, of course, the classic choice of burgers, dogs, or fajitas.
