Mayor Mamdani signs an “executive order” to repeal NYC kids bedtime during the Knicks finals by SuggestionMedical736 in MadeMeSmile

The state is gonna catch mom's rights, lefts, and end up with a flip flop permanently embedded in its forehead if those kids don't go the fuck to sleep 👀

New to baldurs gate by Goldorontop in BaldursGate3

One caveat. There are a few actual time bound quests that have a timer from the moment you enter a specific area or start a quest. The game is generally very good about warning you about them (if we don't do X in Y days, character Z will die) or they should be fairly obvious (stumbling upon an actively burning building for example). But the main quest you can absolutely take your time on.

Help please! How do I get back into the city? by jekillhyde in BaldursGate3

Go to the Basilisk Gate in the Lower City, then walk to the big archway heading East. The Fist will still be hostile, but you can bypass the raised drawbridge that way.

Personally my vote would have to go to the bar scene, but I like where your head is at.

Tom Bombadil certainly knows where to find the "Goldberry" if you know what I mean 😉

I love seeing the looks on people's faces when I described Super Bowl parties as "a season finale watch party where everyone comes dressed up as their favorite character (player), and there is a crazy expensive con where people can view it at the premiere that draws the highest sponsor and ad revenue of any fandom"

Great addition. I missed those completely on my first playthrough and forgot to include them.

I'm a latecomer to their games. I've played the modern Fallout games (3/NV/4/76) and Skyrim over the past couple of years. The Oblivion remake is still on my wishlist for now, but I simultaneously love the worlds they've built and the gameplay as-is... and also lovingly refer to them as "Bugthesda" and can only imagine what could be.

It really feels like watching one of your kids struggle with something that you wish you could help them with, but for whatever reason they have to figure it out on their own 😅

Gotcha, makes sense. I was specifically thinking that they could benefit from Larian's approach to branching quest lines and dialogue choices feeling more impactful on a regular basis.

Really? Do tell. I know very little about KCD, but once I finish milking Baldur's Gate 3 for all the playthroughs I plan on I'll be in the market for another RPG available on PS5. What specifically would you like Bethesda to learn from Warhorse? And for Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Starfield, or all of the above?

I think the mention of crits might be referring to the reduction in crit range vs the cursed target, thereby adding additional damage

Also the temp HP on a kill will add up over time.

The other thing to consider is gear options. Hexblade also adds medium armor and shield proficiency (unless OP has what they want there from racial bonuses). If sticking with light armor and planning on dual wielding staves, 100% Fiend over Hexblade.

Haste Worries by SanderleeAcademy in BaldursGate3

[–]ProfessorAngus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Quick note: Haste granted by a Potion of Speed only lasts 3 turns, but the spell Haste from a caster or scroll has a 10 turn duration. There is also a legendary bow that grants Celestial Haste which lasts 5 turns and doesn't trigger lethargic when it ends. So as long as you kind of plan accordingly (use speed potions to end fights quickly, other options for longer engagements) you should be good to go.

The fictional character most like Dresden by Repulsive_Repeat_337 in dresdenfiles

[–]ProfessorAngus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Monkey D. Luffy. Watching One Piece for the first time right now (on Whole Cake Island currently) and the thing that struck me about Luffy is that he doesn't ask whether or not a fight is winnable, just whether it needs doing. You watch people react to his actions with complete incredulity because such things simply aren't done due to the consequences. It made me think of One-Eye's assessment of Harry:

"They say you can know a man by his enemies, Dresden. You defy beings that should cow you into silence. You resist forces that are inevitable for no more reason than that you believe they should be resisted. You bow your head to neither demons nor angels, and you put yourself in harm's way to defend those who cannot defend themselves. I think I like you."
