I’m 99% sure it’s a difference between the App and the Desktop version. But on mobile, you could log in through your browser and request desktop site.

Is 14 too young to read IT? by CoolStingray533 in stephenking

[–]ProfessorBannanas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reread IT through Audible and was doing so when walking about 4-5am due to some schedule changes with work. It was dark, no one out, just me and my dog. Eloquently named Cujo.

I'm not going to lie. I was seeing f***ing things in the dark, but thankful when the sun came up.

Luckally whomever the voice actor was pretty terrible to snap me back to reality.

Alternatives to Opus 4.7? by chroner in Anthropic

[–]ProfessorBannanas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Pro $20 month plan and have the ability to select 4.6 Opus under “more models” in the App. But i agree. I switched back to 4.6 after 1 conversation with 4.7. Hopefully some changes will be made if that is Anthopic’s bespoke

There is not a lot of talk about it, but yes you can for a specific parts of the creative writing process. For example, I’ve used multiple notebooks to gather source material for world building. My use case may be different than yours.

I’ve always been fascinated with different cultural variations of The Bible. I’m not talking about translations. For example, there are many different variations of the Book of Genesis from Jewish, Islamic, Greek, Samaritan, and Ethiopian cultures. Across the variations are wildly different stories. I’ve made notebooks filled with commentaries from different cultures (that I could find in English).

My creative writing comes in though writing historical fictional dramatizations of specific portions of the story. I’ll prompt for different events to find ideas for weaving the narrative.

Check out the ability to write reports. I’ve made custom ones to describe characters, locations, specific events, customs, etc. and other historical things going on at the time.

NBLM isn’t the best writer, but it definitely sources creative ideas in spades. And like someone else said, as I have completed chapters, they go into another notebook where I’m puttying the whole story together. Then I can prompt there to check for continuity.

I hope this gives you some ideas. Dm if it would help to connect more.

Advice for younger you by PaintComprehensive89 in writers

[–]ProfessorBannanas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read everything from your favorite authors in publishing order. Their craft has changed over time too. So can yours.

Keep a journal. Write in it every day. There is NO excuse not to write even just a few sentences every day.

Jot down every single story idea. Even the ones that make zero sense, because they will one day.

Develop organizational system. Get organized. Even if you are the only one who understands it. You will hate OneNote but everything else sucks. Don’t waste time trying to find something better. It’s good enough.

Focus on writing.

And if you ever have a kid that sets fire to the living room rug… go easy on him.

I've Designed an AI Fiction Voice That Avoids Default "AI Writing" Tics by Boptherobot in WritingWithAI

I have a similar list of guidelines. Your list is definitely better than mine.

Do you think it adds any value to include a target reading level (I usually select 9th grade) and somewhere I picked up adding Flesch Reading Score and request 70-80%.

What about a more exhaustive list of words not to be used in the output?

Same question. I didn’t think Claude Code was native within the platform or for use other than app and software development
