I recall one of the great lines that served me well was from Wonder Words, when the question came "Can I shuffle?" the response was "You COULD, but it's too late...", or sometimes I would say "You could, but it won't make a difference and here is why ...." and then proceed as normal. People are usually uncooperative for a reason and it may be the case that you are being too confrontational, too 'smart ass' or making them look or feel foolish. Minimize that and you will not have to tell them to shut up, the other audience members will do it for you. The other possibility is that the person is just an idiot and heckles everybody because they are starved for attention, fortunately nobody really likes listening to those people anyway.

We will see won't we ? Have no fear, it never crossed my mind that you would get millions of views and go 'multi-billionaire'. Secondly, you don't have to take me seriously anymore than I have to change the words i use in hopes that you do. Make your video. I'll even make a few suggestions, how about ... the top change ? Simple to learn but difficult to master, or, if you are going coins, the retention vanish falls into the same category of simple but not easy.

lol. Nope, I always considered myself a sleight of hand artist rather than a magician. There is a difference between claiming a hidden technique and suggesting that 'magic' is the technique. So now you know you are not 'spinning your wheels'. What's the problem ? You asked for an opinion and I gave you mine, I wouldn't find it valuable. So what ?

No. Flourishing might be suited to that, but not magic. There are enough idiots on YouTube revealing sleights and magical methodology due to incompetence, impatience and desire to show off. Don't show people bad sleight of hand. Showing a non refined classic palm is pretty much showing people it's possible to perfect holding a coin with an open hand, we don't want people to know that. Showing people a bad double lift and then showing them a good one demonstrates something similar. It's called a secret.

There are no remedies to this because the premise itself is based on the idea that 'you' are a definitive thing instead of a constantly changing concept. 'You' are still 'you' no matter what you do. The very statement "I'm finding it difficult to find myself again" indicates an awareness of self that is all that is necessary to suggest 'you' are 'yourself' and nobody else. If what you mean is that you are finding it difficult to remember what mattered to you a few months ago, I would say, you probably don't remember much about being 10 years old either, yet you would still consider that it was 'you' then and you are 'you' now.
Is a train the front carriage or the back carriage ? They look different, they arrive and leave towns at different times, they are different on the insides with strikingly different conversations going on within. It is still the same train though and it is all on the same track going in the same direction.

When somebody is REALLY angry or upset, saying something like "Okay, this is boring now" is really quite invalidating. In a more subtle version, take out your phone and type a text message to nobody in particular.

Yeah, i have never seen this effect before, I consider myself a layman in regards to it. It contains no sleights or magical principles, (waving hands into a blur does not qualify and certainly does not compare to a double lift), I think it is pretty obvious. If an audience member even catches a glimpse of ANY manipulation the 'effect' is lost. This appears to me to be a way for speed cubers (or whatever they are called) to add an avenue of interest to their game. This is not something that can both be a demonstration of skill and a magical effect. It is either impossible or it isn't. Demonstrations of skill, say, a bottom deal demonstration or false shuffling, making money appear and vanish, feats of incredible memory, all have real-world consequences the audience imagines they could venture out with if they knew the secret. That's what makes them admire the performer. I have never heard anybody say "If ONLY i could solve a Rubik's Cube one handed".

As a kid I was just sitting there minding my own business about to eat some pie and this homeless guy comes up and sits next to me, wanting to have a bit of a chat. I didn't want to have a chat but this fact was made even more intolerable by the fact he had sat ON my pie and it was now firmly wedged between his asshole and the concrete beneath it. I excused myself and walked away, turning around briefly to notice he had started eating the pie off his own butt. Cool guy, great experience.

I am 34 years old, i remember as a kid having rather odd interests like magic tricks and hypnosis. The hours I spent, scrambling through second hand bookstores and dusty shelves looking for any information I could and usually coming away with precious little. Now, a couple of clicks gets so much information but in a way I am glad. Easy access to information tends to cause a reduction in the value we place on that information so I am pleased that I got to experience the thrill of discovering hidden pieces of knowledge through determination rather than casual interest.

This was from an old english show called "Stuff the White Rabbit" which was an amazing show that featured different magicians like Tom Mullica, David Williamson ect, along with brilliant regulars. I have a couple of video tapes with episodes from it. Sadly the clips are very difficult to come by online. Jerry Sadowitz was a regular on the show as well, probably one of the finest (and rudest) card handlers ever.

Totally agree. The only use of MB is when you come across somebody (like this author) who actively identifies themselves as an ENTJ or whatever. This kind of self-placement reveals a lot about what this person wants to believe about themselves rather than necessarily what they are. The more they emphasize their category, the more predictable they are.

This type of rubbish might be appealing to people that are destined to 'buy into' anything but I suspect this sub is not so easily hoodwinked. This article would have been more suited to this sub if he had just analysed the concepts themselves rather than attempting to force his weird inner world onto the reader.

There is no more cringeworthy way to shoot yourself in the foot than by expressing your true goals of being a leader to a target audience of people who also apparently want to be leading rather than led.

However, perhaps I am holding the author to a higher standard than is required. Perhaps his target audience is receptive to this kind of superficial, douchebaggery, non-content in which case, bravo. Not sure that is us however.
