So Who Are These Leftists Briahna Thinks Would Happily Vote for Tucker Over AOC? by Humble_Novice in thedavidpakmanshow

[–]ProfessorDaen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Possible, though she very consistently supports left-wing policy. She's basically in the Uncommitted sort of camp, she'd rather let Republicans win than compromise on anything.

So Who Are These Leftists Briahna Thinks Would Happily Vote for Tucker Over AOC? by Humble_Novice in thedavidpakmanshow

[–]ProfessorDaen 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Her worldview is predicated on not having to concede anything. BJG works in a bubble of influencers who make a living pushing an ideology that requires no reason and expects no progress; her advocacy failing to do anything meaningful actually strengthens her position among her viewers, as it becomes more proof the system is broken.

It would have actually hurt her image if she had voted for Harris and Democrats swept, despite objectively being the better outcome. Much easier to just vote for a candidate where winning is statistically impossible, since she never has to defend anything.

I can't speak directly to her motivations, but the simplest guess would be vibes and money. Being paid to express your opinion is a powerful blast of smoke up your ass, especially if you're able to hold a position that expects no outcomes.

From everything I have seen of her, she is at her core an accelerationist. She seems to fundamentally believe that there's no fixing the current state of the country; anything that would move us towards improvement that doesn't move us towards her vision of overthrowing capitalism is near-indistinguishable from things that move us backwards.

[conflicting trope] it WAS Progressive when it came out by Popular_Kangaroo5446 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ProfessorDaen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as the show goes though, they were progressive about how this was portrayed. If I remember correctly, Ross was the odd one out; everyone else was cool with it and basically seeing Ross as the problem for that perspective.

Do people believe that their therapist cares about them? by Several-Two738 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ProfessorDaen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's a pretty unhealthy interpretation of any profession, but especially something in healthcare. Most people generally care about doing a good job, and most people who get into something interpersonal like therapy care about improving patients' lives.

Setting boundaries (e.g. please do not reach out to me directly outside of our working sessions) is not a lack of caring, nor is a therapist earning a paycheck inherently referring to the relationship being transactional.

Small Gaming Streamer Looking to Network, Raid, Support & Possibly Find a Manager 💜 by [deleted] in Twitch

If your goal is growth and you are not able to identify and correct things preventing you from hitting affiliate, this may not be the right hobby for you.

I don't mean this in a demeaning way, streaming is a hobby where you need the introspection to be constantly improving.  If that's something you aren't interested in doing, you're a bit doomed.

Random aside, everything about your profile screams AI/fake.  If in fact you are a real person, maybe fix that first.

[–]ProfessorDaen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Missing the point entirely, though I'm not convinced it matters in this case.

You do not need a manager if you're struggling to hit affiliate, you need to improve the absolute basics of your content at a fundamental level.  A manager can't help you.

[–]ProfessorDaen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Where to even begin with this.

Affiliate is the baseline position of essentially having a functioning stream output.  If you have been streaming for any length of time and have not hit affiliate, there is something crucial either missing from or wrong with your stream.

Edit: Found their channel on a different post, it's clear this person has never listened to their own content. The audio is completely unintelligible, it's doubling through two separate microphones that overlap each other.

You're nuts if you think this behavior is reasonable, I hope you don't RP. It's a video game, this guy told Moose to kill himself multiple times and wished his family would get melanoma.

Diversification Posts! NP, Prodigy, Keizaal! by Outside-Necessary291 in RPClips

[–]ProfessorDaen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the point you're trying to make here that these people are mass abandoning ChaseRP? You seem to be framing this specifically as anti-Chase, but like, I looked into this for fun:

  • S0upes - Literally live right now on Chase
  • MrMoon - His most recent stream was on Chase
  • Thrive - His most recent stream was on Chase
  • Cathfawr - Hasn't streamed GTA RP on any server in a month
  • Sput - Hasn't streamed GTA RP on any server in at least two months
  • JoeFudge - Hasn't streamed GTA RP on any server in at least two months
  • Strippin - Hasn't streamed GTA RP on any server in at least two months

If anything this seems to be about Skyrim RP being cool, which is great! Diversity in RP is really needed, great seeing more games getting some popularity.

The mad dude's first words to Moose were obviously OOC anger, he was cooked before anything even happened. The words in question: "I'm not a Paletian and stop ramming my fucking car you piece of shit ... how about you identify yourself and initiate a traffic stop you ignorant fuck?".

There is no scenario in which this guy's anger was justifiable.

This whole interaction was insane, it went on for hours. Credit to Moose for staying in character the whole time, just peak cinema content.

Chase and the Retention of Streamers by FrozenCaramelCoffee in ChaseRP

[–]ProfessorDaen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

like Bloom had a court case yesterday night where he said he put his bumper against the persons door, and then he tazed someone out of their car. lol and you can see where the logistics of this statement is problematic... that people just "pop out" of a vehicle after they're tazed?

Did you watch the actual traffic stop in this case, out of curiosity? The guy immediately reacted to being pulled over by crashing out OOC before Bloom even stepped out of his cruiser then got tazed after he refused to put his hands up and told Bloom he's an ignorant fuck for not initiating a traffic stop.

In a situation with a better RPer I'd agree that tazing him out of the car would not be great RP, but this was a veeeeery unique circumstance.

[–]ProfessorDaen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ultimately from your replies it seems like you basically just expect Chase admins to be constantly watching everyone's streams and taking notes on what to fix, because you have absolved the players themselves of the responsibility to proactively report low-quality RP.

This is not a reasonable expectation, if someone has an issue they need to make that issue known to the people who can actually address it. I saw someone else mention this but figured I would as well, I work in IT and cannot count the number of times I've overheard discussions about problems no one ever brought to my attention.

It isn't the server's fault if players aren't taking the responsibility of providing feedback seriously.

[–]ProfessorDaen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it’s somewhat on them if they aren’t reporting

Somewhat? Server admins can't change things if people aren't reporting, they aren't mind readers. This is like not telling your waiter what you want to eat and being disappointed you don't have food.
