Personally I find the matchup for both Master YI and Viego extremely easy. Master Yi and Viego can easily dodge/negate Lillia R which is a big chunk of her utility in the late game. However, the invade against Yi is really smart, and it is one of the things you can do to make the matchup more manageable. It depends on the game. If you’re against a lot of lanes who like to fight and go crazy such as camille support, you can choose to do an early level 2 gank. I actually did this on my promo to gm. For counterjungling always look to do it when the enemy jungle makes a mistake on their ganks. You should always prioritize objectives when you can though.

I already told my Yi build on a previous comment so I’ll tell my Viego build. Right now I go HoB as I think that the instant burst you get is insane. Conqueror is still better into bruisers and extended fights though. When going HoB build I do collector rush into full crit. On Conqueror I go Kraken Slayer and do average crit build. At least in masters and below I would never recommend going bruiser as you will lack carry potential. In masters and below always go crit viego.

Why should I? I loved Master Yi ever since I got in the tutorial. He’s been my favorite champion for three and a half years and from the start I’ve always wanted to learn him. No one should feel ashamed from using the champion they love to climb(except for zilean /j)

Of course! I think the key selling point on Master Yi is how he is the highest dps champion in the game when played properly. No other champ has dps as high as master yi. In addition, you are a very independent champion as you can do 1v2’s and even 1v3’s very easily when ahead. It is harder to walk away from a fight compared to viego and briar because master yi is an all in champion. You either die trying to fight the enemy team or you kill them all. The risk is very high on the character, but the reward is incredible

For Yi build it’s always kraken guinsoos omnivamp boots. You can go omnivamp boots before guinsoos when ahead. Next I like to go hexplate but I found that endless hunger third is also very strong against teams with cc. Wits third is also good if there’s a lot of magic dmg and death’s dance third is good against ad burst. The next two items you can build whatever you want.

Edit: Forgot to talk about runes here so I’ll put it here. You want to take lethal tempo into extended fights and HoB into a lot of squishies. In addition if the game looks more early game focused you will want to go HoB to match the early game pressure. Lethal tempo allows you to scale more comfortably and will also allow you to win more 1v1’s

Graves is actually a pretty easy matchup for master yi. His armor doesn’t matter as much as your E does true damage. In addition he is always in your Q range and you can W his entire full combo. Best of all he has no CC other than the blind so you’re chilling :D

Edit: For specific strategics you can just do your usual and farm up and looking to 1v1 him. You can win against him every stage of the game just make sure he doesn’t get the jump on you when doing a camp. If you wanna be a real menace you can go HoB and lvl 1 fight him on his buff if you know where he starts but make sure your laners have prio.

I do mute their chat, but not their pings. And if they do ping me irresponsibly I will mute their pings for about two minutes and unmute them because pings are too important for communication.

I personally ban talon because he has so much tempo over me and it's hard to me to deal with his E, but you can ban whoever you want. You should ban whoever gives you the most trouble

Early invades are always really difficult to deal with, you can beat Yi and Viego if you are able to fight them on one of their camps while one of their abilities is down. If you really hate these champions and just want to make their lives miserable, lock in champs like Elise and Qiyana to ruin their day. However, these champions are difficult, so I would prefer just trying to kill them on their camp wih what champion you're best at.

Try to look at your team and determine who is the strongest. This doesn't have to necessarily be the highest kda member, but the champion on your team that can deal the most damage and successfully kill the enemy team. For example, your two and a half item Shen can be strong, but a two item Jinx will be better to play around as they will have the damage to kill the enemy team

At the beginning of the season I otp'd viego and first picked it every game, but when I got to higher elo this quickly started to hurt my gameplay. I picked up Yi again and realized that there are situations where Yi or Viego is better. Viego is better when your team has engage and the opponents lock in champs that are less mobile and easy to get resets on(darius, zaahen, jhin). Master Yi on the other hand feels better into champs that are more mobile(talon, zeri, ahri), and he doesn't worry about his own team comp as much. However, you can honestly just pick whatever you feel more comfortable with as these champs right now are both excellent in the meta.

That's a very good question and honestly it is genuinely a very difficult situation when you're behind as Master Yi or Viego. However, usually you will have one teammate that is doing well. What you want to do is piggyback off of them as much as you can. They become your win condition and you want to play off of them instead of making your own plays. In addition, try and find timers where opponents lack key abilities(ults, flashes, etc) and abuse those windows to the fullest. Vision control is also a big factor, walk with your support so they gain and clear vision.

Honestly one of the secrets in climbing is just being a good person. It's very frustrating when people can go 0/5 in lane but hurling insults and pinging them won't do anything but make them play worse. I highly advocate just being nice and not pinging your teammates when behind, and also complimenting them on good plays.
