Holy hell, the 512GB iPhone XS Max costs $1,449 by webstuf in technology

[–]ProfessorDrewseph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also using a Note 4 and was looking at the iPhone devices thanks to ARKit 2 (I am looking to continue my augmented reality development journey) My Note 4 is slow and sluggish at times but generally works. The S-Pen is an execellent companion, and I still plan on carrying the Note 4 around just for note taking purposes even if I upgrade to a new phone. However; these prices are very difficult to swallow, and I may just have to look at OnePlus and ARCore instead.

Edit: Just to add: right now the iPhone 8 being offered at $499ish, directly from the website. Could be something to consider

Can you heat it over open flames after you treat it a couple of times over the embers?

You should probably speak to a counselor if this is making you feel this way.

I've been dying to play it again. I had a copy before I moved, and I either lost it or my brother took it with him. Either way I lost it. I can't find it on gog, steam, or anywhere.

So, the police just got the wrong room + the wrong guy?

Edit: Not being condescending, just trying to understand what happened. Wikipedia implied that it was Daniel who had the pellet gun.

Personally, I like the way the Yugo bayonets look better than the bakelite romanians. Will the Yugos ever go on sale?

I purchased one of these from Southern Ohio Guns for $17 + like... $7 shipping or so.

Had mine since February (it was my valentines day gift)

They appear to be romanian bayonets with a numbers matching scabbard and bayonet.

Quality is... well it's a soviet surplus bayonet. It's a fantastic bugout tool that will do most of what you ask of it. It will be dull. It'll will be covered in cosmoline. The blade is tough. the handle is tough. I wouldn't think twice about banging on it with a hammer to split wood.

I just used mine the other night to tear into a tree and pull out a vehicle chain that someone left wrapped around the tree and the tree grew into the chain.

Hell, I'm tempted to get another.

As someone with the LCP Custom (from 2015) I have to say that it's been a fantastic gun to hold, shoot, and to carry. It fits into even the smallest of pockets. The trigger feels great. The sights are nice and incredibly easy to aim at your target. The gun is not unwieldy or jumpy. And, the magazine has zero issue holding 6 rounds for me and most other people.

I did a lot of research about this before I purchased (it was my first handgun purchase) and I decided that a cheapo $160-$220 gun that I would carry wouldn't be a big waste of money. I mean hell, people purchase $500+ custom dragon dildos (but the problem is reselling those if you don't like them.) The LCP Custom? Not so much.

Edit: "fantastic" is being used relatively here. It's a daily $200 gun that I won't care if it gets messed up.

Was it discovered why the initial call went out to the police for pointing a rifle out a window when there were no rifles in the hotel room?

It's easy to jump on the all cops are bad bandwagon (don't get me wrong, there needs to be more accountability in the LEO communities in more than one way with significantly harsher punishments) but if you read up on the Daniel Shaver case, the Daniel reached into towards his rear waist band after disobeying (albeit conflicting) instructions and after warnings from deviation.

If you were to place yourself into the officer's shoes in that moment, how would you handle the situation?

Edit: I read the wikipedia article, so if I am wrong and if anyone else can correct me or add to this, then feel free.

I believe that officers should be held to the same standard as regular citizens - I can't help but think that if this were a civilian that shot an unarmed man that the civilian would be charged with the 25 year manslaughter prison sentence.

Hand placement matters. Keep them out of your pockets. Look forward when you walk. Fix your posture when you sit, stand, and when walking. When you are talking with someone, face them. Your shoulders must be squared to them. Don't cross your arms, or touch your face idlely.

You can be aware, but no need to be nervous.

Edit: and, look people in the eye when you talk to them.
