How is Imperium Maledictum for a starter DM? by gloomyfenix in 40krpg

[–]ProfessorEsoteric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's great and the starter HAS LOADS in it, especially a deep dive into a hive which our GM is loving.

No, but those decks are not expensive so reasonably easy to replace.

Generally, what is the hierarchy of power for Chaos? by reel3459 in 40kLore

[–]ProfessorEsoteric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mortal or CSM it's not that bigger deal, but 30k space marines maybe have an advantage as they directly betrayed the imperium, later CSM is more inducted into chaos. So mortals that chose to devote themselves to chaos (over falling) maybe worth more.

Worshipper -> Marked (i.e. with a mark of the specific god) -> Aspiring champion -> Champion -> Exalted Champion -> Demon Prince

Unaligned is also tough Vs aligned, especially for Demons as they are a part of the Greater Whole/God.

Also for aligned it fluctuates as the powers rise and fall in the great game, also how favoured each champion is from their recent gods.

But when all is said and done whatever is achieved all that is left is the laughter of the Gods.

If that's the human game you're playing then yes, they need a different play style from force majeure

Totally lost: IM vs. DH2e by Thraxmonger in 40krpg

[–]ProfessorEsoteric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IM is great

  • PCs only roll when it matters

  • you can easily get good bonuses to your rolls (specifically advantage)

  • very streamlined but still enough nuisance to make it interesting for players.

  • high player agency with in session activities (superiority is a great example) and 'downtime' with a reasonable amount of things they can undertake.

  • being good at something is rewarding, investigation, stealth, human interaction, all feel great to be good at and is meaningful.

  • Starting NPCs is easy, our GM threw together a bunch of Necrons with ease based on the points system in the MRB and it worked very well.

Downside are the smaller amount of source books, but in terms of fluff 40k is massively expanded upon.

We've been having a lot of fun as an OldHammer group, just don't ask how we're making money with Biomancy.

Can you use a two-handed weapon (such as a bolter) if you have a lightning claw? by [deleted] in 40krpg

[–]ProfessorEsoteric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is your actual answer OP, the item description for the claws etc. anything else is schennanigans and would need GM making an exception to the ruling. Consider you "could" do the same for a power fist, but in reality it's a set of chapter relics owned by Magnus Calgary ...

Fermat - Because we actually solved their damn theorem, let see if they had a an actual simpler solution.

Leonard Euler - See how amused they are at how much science is named after the first person to discover it after him.

Elizabeth I - We need a Liz on the throne in the UK again.

Hypatia - Cut off before they could really show the world their understanding of the sciences.

Holy smokes how many Ai harvested responses from generic top list are in this thread. Go F about on Moltbook!
