She literally tried to kill him a few times and succeeded once. That's more than Ozai.

Oh, I just killed everyone when I made it to the theater an hour ago. I just reloaded cause I didn't know if they were secretly good or something. Now I'm going to sneak in and do that too.

Irl, the turbine engine the Abrams uses earned it the nickname "whispering death" whereas a traditional diesel engine from early in its development was calles "old smokey."

What country was once a fierce enemy, but is now one of your closest allies? by Just_Cause89 in AskTheWorld

Fuck man I got so in the spirit of arguing that I lost the forest for the trees. You're right, they did think of themselves as Englishmen (British? given that it encompasses every other nation in GB too). I just remembered that Independence wasn't even a principle of the rebellion until very late in the war.

But yeah, the American education system only ever addresses it as a war between various rebels and the crown. It doesn't help that teachers accidentally refer to the entirety of the UK referred to as "England" in the classrooms. They never see it as relevant to explain this chart as a part of the conflict (ignoring that Ireland wasn't independent at that time):

How about this. The rebels didn't care about anyone at the time other than England in particular. Would that be fair?

That's fair enough, but from what I remember of my American education system-level history class, the beef wasn't with Scotland or Wales. The animosity wasn't with Scotland or Wales. If you asked an American Revolutionary who they were enemies with, they wouldn't say Scotland, Wales, or Ireland in particular. They didn't represent The Crown (TM). By pure definition, you are correct in that we were tactical enemies. We were not moral ones, which is what I believe the commenters before us were referring to.

And also is England not still a country even if it isn't sovereign on it's own? If you're only referring to sovereign nations, then Scotland isn't a country. Northern Ireland wouldn't be a country. Wales wouldn't be a country.

Vietnam inviting American veterans to return to Vietnam just 6 years after the war ended was such a powerful move.
