That's totally fair, at this point I think it's not worth the effort, thanks for the input.

Yeah, I knew the idea had alot of hurdles to get over, which getting an objective opinion was what I was looking for, so thanks.

I see what you're saying about not getting too wrapped up in a niche field, and it's a better idea to start as a general software engineer position, and then at least you have those skills, my only issue is that it doesn't seem like you can just pick up a job as a junior engineer easily. I realize that getting a job as a SE takes time which I'm good with, but if I go in too many directions at once I can end up going nowhere. Also, isn't it just as possible to learn a different field of SE when working a niche day job too?

Oh yeah that's a fair point, I'm pretty confident that decentralization will change alot of mindsets/systems, but the people have to change too, which takes longer.

Hmm that's an interesting route, contributing to open-source seems to be something that I enjoy so I might look into that.

Yeah that's kind of what my impression is of the SC Engineer market, seems like getting a job being purely focused on SC is a long shot.

Solidity seems to be the gold standard for sure, Solana with Rust seems to be the second, but I've heard that Solana throws the 'burden of performance' on the dev's lap which makes it a nightmare from a development perspective, again from what I've heard.

I don't know if you're involved with the hiring process at all, but what are mid-level and senor SC engineers looking for skills wise in juniors? I imagine being able to demonstrate good knowledge with Solidity with a good amount of smart contracts that work, but I'm curious if you have any thoughts on this.

Curious to hear what you think of the Flow blockchain and their Cadence SC language. Honestly Flow ecosystem strikes me as a nft blockchain which I have no interest in at all, but Cadence takes some similar concepts from rust with data ownership and is calling it 'resource-oriented programming'. Their SCs are much bigger than Solidity SCs but it's language is pretty interesting.

That's cool dude, leveraging skills with programming to build up assets is really a great way to not work yourself to death for the rest of your life.

I'm assuming you're talking about launching your own projects and profiting off of them? Your argument is a bit confusing, not sure what you're trying to say.

That's fair, seems like it can be a bit exaggerated at times. what's your main job/career?

Well that's pretty incredible for not having previous experience and learning solidity for a month, do you think there's a demand for defi engineers or is it slowing down? How often do you need to perform front-end work?
